Trying German Sweets & Treats | Candy Haul

My sweet sister lives in Germany and some time ago she pampered me with a huge package of the famous German sweets, chocolates, wafers and others delicious treats. I'm a huge sweet-tooth and can't live without glucose overload in my blood, so today's haul I want to dedicate to everyone, who has a great liking for sweets like me. There is no bigger fun, than tasting a ton of delicious candies and I had so much fun creating this blog post!

Let's start with Giotto Weiße Mandel - a German analogue of famous Raffaello coconut - almond spheres, but Giotto tastes so much better. These sweets are as lightweight as a feather and melt away right after you put them in your mouth. I loved them very much and these almond treats were the first thing I finished from the package. The structure of Giotto spheres is very similar to Raffaelo and they also have an almond nut in the center of the sweet.

Next are a very popular cereal bars Corny, my lovely sister sent me two popular flavors: coconut and banana. Corny made of oat and wheat flakes, juicy coconut and banana poured with milk chocolate. I'm addicted to these cereal bars, they taste pretty simple, but so good! Few of Corny bars are still hidden in my purse.

Every German citizen knows and loves Hanuta hazelnut wafers. These crunchy wafers smeared with a sweet and aromatic cocoa cream and seasoned with crunchy hazelnuts. The incredible and aromatic taste of these wafers makes them the best breakfast food and I love to eat them with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or sugarless tea. They can also provide you with some extra energy through out a long day of work.

These are a classic American chocolate cookies full of chocolate chips. The dough is very sweet and crumbly and the chocolate chips are very tasty. I'm a huge fan of homemade cookies, but I didn't master my baking skill yet, so my cookies are not nearly as good as these yummies. If you are a big fan of simple American cookies, you definitely need to try out how German people understand this food. You will be impressed by the delightful taste and flavor of these snack.

I'm almost sure that everyone heard about Ritter Sport and Milka chocolate brands. These are probably two most famous European chocolate factories that produce a high quality products since early 1900s. Ritter Sport was founded in Bad Cannstatt, Germany, while Milka chocolatier originated in Switzerland. Both of these chocolate brands taste lovely! Their distinguished feature is a variety of flavors and fillers. For example, you can find 42 unique tastes of Ritter Sport chocolate square-shaped bar and 13 varieties of Milka.

And the last sweet treat for today is this cute Gummy Frogs by the world famous confectionery company Haribo. It was founded by Johannes "Hans" Riegel long ago in 1920. Gummy candies are one of my favorite sweets on the market, because they are chewy, brightly flavored and low fat. Haribo's Quaxi Fröschli are gummy and transparent on the top, but their bottom part is harder and tastes more like chewy marshmallow. The description on the packaging claims that these frogs are not croaking and they make children and adults happy and I absolutely agree!

What are you favorite sweet treats?

Lots of love,
Liz
