If you have ever been to Japan, we all know that they have an obsession for Animal cafés. Cat, Owl and Hedgehog cafés are very popular and standard these days. When I am in Japan, I always watch out for unique cafés and I put at least one new place on my bucket list. Since I already knew that we will visit Osaka, I was googling for some interesting animal cafés around the area and the ROCK STAR caught my attention. There are two ROCK STAR cafés, the one with reptiles only and the one that we visited was with lots of small animals. They had soooo many different animals, from simple bunnies, hedgehogs, hamsters, ferrets to exotic sugar gliders, chinchilla and more. We didn’t book any appointment in advance, but we just went there right at the opening, so we could easily get a seat. Depending on how long you stay, the café will request for an entry fee (prices are below). You can also order drinks and snacks, if you like. There is no limitation of choosing animals, you could pick as many as you like (but just one type of animal). Just ask the staff and they will bring the animal(s) to your table and return them, if you fished playing with them. I honestly have to say, that I am not a big fan of this café or should I rather say that I was feeling sad for certain animals, due to the (small) cages? I think (well I hope) that the staff is certainly taking care of them, the animals also had a “break sign” on their cages, but it just overwhelmed me to see sooooo many cages lined up next to each other. Probably it is just because I never had any pets that were kept in cages, so… Anyhow, we had a funny day at the café, some animals really enjoyed our cuddles (like the cute little bunny, which was our highlight) and even though that I will not return to this café in recent times, I am still curious to experience the second ROCK STAR café with the reptiles someday.
