Various friends had told me about SAJ and their cool veggie food but I hadn't made it there yet. And the first time we tried we failed as they had run out of dough! But we persevered and went back with a friend for Lunch a few days later. Glad we stuck to it! We really enjoyed our meal, sat outside in a small busy road of the old town, we will return for sure.
First we had a coffee whilst waiting for our friend and perused the SAJ menu.

And the food came :)
This was O's, she picked the fresh Summer vegetables with wild thyme. And a side Salad of courgettes as did I. This galette is vegan as it is just with veggies and herbs, some mint and cherry tomatoes, cucumbers etc.

G went for the lunch menu - Greek salad with a simple wild thyme galette (with thyme, sesame seeds, sumac and olive oil). Very refreshing on a hot summer's day.
I also went for a vegan option :) The "rougettes aux noix" option which is a bell pepper and walnut spread which I thought was likely to be similar to muhammara which I love! It is red pepper, walnut, cumin, spices, tahini and pomegranate molasses. nom!
The courgette salad was a lovely surprise, crunchy and fresh with raw courgettes, lemon, tomato, onion and mint. Worth the extra 3.50 euros.
The galette is nice and crispy and the portion size with the side salad is good for a lunch break. Freshly cooked to order.
Quite a decent amount of the tasty filling too.
We didn't need to but we kind of fancied trying a dessert one :) I love Nutella so we went with the hazelnut chocolate spread to round off our meal :)
