Dishcloth 22: Broken Rib

  • Needles: US 7 - 4.5 mm.
  • Worsted Yarn: Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton, 50g.
  • Finished Measurements: Approx 8” x 8”.

Broken Rib Pattern

Cast on 41 stitches.
Garter stitch border
Rows 1-4: Knit
Broken Rib pattern
Row 1 (RS): K3, *p2, k1, repeat from * to last 5 sts, p2, k3.
Row 2: K5, *p1, k2, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 3: K3, p1, *sl3 wyif, p1, k1, p1, repeat from * to last 7 sts, sl3 wyif, p1, k3.
Row 4: K4, sl3 wyib, *k1, p1, k1, sl3 wyib, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 5 (RS): K3, *p2, k1, repeat from * to last 5 sts, p2, k3.
Row 6: K5, *p1, k2, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 7: K3, p1, *p1, k1, p1, sl3 wyif, repeat from * to last 7 sts, p1, k1, p2, k3.
Row 8: K5, p1, k1, *sl3 wyib, k1, p1, k1, repeat from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Repeat rows 1-8 until you reach the desired length, ending on row 2 or row 6.
Afterwards, proceed to knit 4 rows Garter stitch for the border.
Then bind off. Weave in all ends.
