🧶 Centered Double Decrease: Knitwise and Purlwise Methods

Central Double Decrease knitwise (CDD or S2KP)

🟩 6 steps to successfully make the CDD or S2KP

Step 1: Insert the right needle into the first two stitches on the left needle from left to right.
Step 2: Slip both stitches onto the right needle at once.
Step 3: Knit the next stitch.
Step 4: Use the tip of left needle to lift up the slipped stitches.
Step 5: Pass them over the stitch you just knitted.
Step 6: Drop these stitches off the left needle.
This results in a centered double decrease.

Insert the right needle into the first two stitches on the left needle from left to right.
Slip both stitches onto the right needle at once.
Insert the right needle into the next stitch on the left needle from left to right. Wrap the working yarn counter clockwise around the right needle. Pull a new stitch through it.

Use the tip of left needle to lift up the slipped stitches.
Pass them over the stitch you just knitted and drop these stitches off the left needle.
Done! This results in a centered double decrease.

🟩 8 steps to successfully make the CDDp or S2PP

Step 1: With the working yarn in front, slip one stitch knitwise from the left needle to the right needle.
Step 2: Slip next 2 stitches knitwise from the left needle to the right needle at once.
Step 3: Insert left needle into the these stitches on the right needle from right to left.
Step 4: Slip all stitches onto the left needle at once.
Step 5: Insert the right needle into these on the left needle from right to left.
Step 6: Wrap the working yarn counter clockwise around the right needle.
Step 7: Pull the yarn through three stitches.
Step 8: Drop these stitches off the left needle.
