Wedding planning is a bit of a roller coaster...you get excited over and over, with moments of calm in between when you're waiting on the next part of the process, like picking out your dress or the cake and so on. This past weekend my fiance and I officially picked out and put down the deposit for our Wedding cake.:)
The tasting was different in that instead of tasting a bunch of different flavors, they had us narrow it down ahead of time to two different cakes. When we tried the Merrit's Bakery mocha cake at the Tulsa Wedding Show earlier this year, we knew that was the one we wanted.
For the tasting, we tried it with both a caramel filling and a mocha filling, both pieces with a mocha buttercream. Merrit's let us each try a full slice of both kinds. The caramel was very yummy, but we went with the mocha filling for both layers. For the look, we're going with simple white buttercream topped with fresh red roses and a bit of greenery.
It felt so good to get another detail pinned down. It's exciting to feel closer to the day I get to put on my beautiful wedding gown and marry the man I'm going to proudly call my husband. It was so exciting, in fact, that I completely forgot to take a pic before I started munching away on the cake.:)
