The Weddings of Tulsa Girl's Night

I have the Dress, we have the location, and I've got a pretty good idea of what the reception is going to look like, but we have a few larger details up in the air; like a DJ, the menu, invitations, etc. When my fiance found out about this special event at the Weddings of Tulsa bridal showroom, I jumped right on it. I do wish it wasn't a girl's only event, because I LIKE my fiance and would much rather have gone with him.:) But my daughter (and Junior Bridesmaid) tagged along, and we had a great time.

Something I will definitely need down the line is someone who will do my final fitting and alterations. I would go with David's Bridal, but their alterations department will only deal with items from their boutique. I met a lovely woman at the show who not only does custom gowns, but would be happy to do my final alterations regardless of where my dress was purchased.

As I've learned this year, being a bride-to-be mean a lot of free cake samples.:) Though I may want to quit sampling soon if I want to fit into my dress! My fiance and I have a tasting set at Merrit's Bakery this weekend, so that will undoubtedly be next week's Wedding Wednesday post.

There were also a few catering companies giving out samples. How cute is this mini mac 'n' cheese? I won't be using this for the reception, but I'm certainly going to snag this idea for a future dinner party.

I'm still mulling over the specifics on the bouquets and floral arrangements, but we do know we want to incorporate red roses. Ken brought me two dozen roses on our second date, and has given me flowers so many times since then, and incorporated red roses into the proposal. I mean, what girl doesn't love flowers, but for me it's something I particularly love, and it's something he loves to give.

I preserved the petals from the first time he gave me roses and still have them safely tucked away. They will definitely be making an appearance on the sign-in table.:)
