In the fall we've got denim and boots, which I dearly love, but in the spring and summer we've got dresses and sandals - bring it on. Between showers and weddings to simply enjoying an evening out in which you don't have to worry about freezing temperatures, it's such a lovely time to get a pretty new Dress. The modern shift is quickly becoming my new favorite. In so many cool patterns and bold colors, it would be fun for a change (I tend to wear more feminine fit-and-flare dresses). A long, loose-fitting dress doesn't seem right for date night, so I would wear this to brunch with the girls or to a bridal shower. But if you've got the legs, you could always go with a mini shift dress for a night out. Much like the little black dress, a little white dress is something every woman should own. I have a strapless white eyelet dress that I love to wear during the warmer months, but I certainly would love to get a pretty white cocktail dress, especially for my bridal shower or rehearsal dinner. It's the perfect cocktail dress for spring and summer, and it goes with so many different colored accessories. You can pair it with black, white, nude, blush, and bold colors as well. Personally I'd pair a white cocktail dress with some modern silver sandals and a more casual white dress with tan sandals. Last but not least, my most favorite dress trend for spring is the lace dress. All-over lace pieces with sheer sleeves or a semi-sheer skirt are everywhere for Spring. And as you can see above, the trend is available in so many different types of dresses; whether fit-and-flare, shift, or a trapeze dress. A pretty pastel lace dress is just the thing to wear to a spring shower or a wedding. And while it's formal enough for those special events, it's still casual enough to wear on a nice date.
