Planet Cowboy Boots: Made to Last

Spend your hard-earned money on quality boots.

If you’ve been keeping up with the recent blog posts, you’re probably familiar with the name Planet Cowboy. I’ve featured them twice on the blog so far, read – Planet Cowboy: Bold Boots for a Modern Cowgirl and Planet Cowboy Pinky Tuscadero Boots. Chances are you’ll  hear more about this boot brand in the future.

There are a lot of reasons I like Planet Cowboy. I’ve been friends with the boot creator, Jaylin Ramer for a long time. Like most friendships I’ve made from blogging, we met thanks to a shared passion for boots. When I lived in NYC five years ago, I was able to visit her store, Space Cowboy Boots in Soho on the regular. As the owner of a boot store, Jaylin is familiar with a variety of brands. She knew what she loved about boots – quality, handmade leather cowboy boots. It was always the cheaper brands made with synthetic materials that disappointed her. These boots wouldn’t last and gave cowboy boots a bad name.

It only made sense for Jaylin’s passion for boots to spark her next move, creating her own line – Planet Cowboy. She frequently travels to the factories in Texas and Mexico to ensure her boots are being made with the highest standards. Jaylin started selling her boots exclusively in her own boutique, but now she’s ready to show them off to the world. Jaylin is proud of the boots she has created.

“It has taken many years to get the results I am willing to put the Planet Cowboy name on,” Jaylin said. “Its been an ongoing challenge to have the manufacturers see my vision and carry it through.”

Less Is More

The older I get, the more I realize I want less stuff. I enjoy shopping for what I call “lifetime pieces”. Boots and bags that I’ll keep forever. Cheap cowboy boots isn’t something I have in my vocabulary anymore. Planet Cowboy boots offer a nod to the history of boot making by following traditional practices. There are over 120 boot making steps. Jaylin lovingly calls her boots Future Vintage. Love and wear them now, love and wear them in the future.
