Just today alone, 7 million blog posts were created. Many new bloggers feel defeated just looking at that staggering data.

They abandon their blogs before they’ve had a chance to hit the ground running! But you don’t have to let disillusionment scare you away from what can be one of the greatest journeys of your life.

I realize when you become a blogger, your workload increases. However, by reading this post, you discover how to boost the return on your time investment (ROI).

This guide shares two important strategies:

  1. You can use your previously published blog content to generate traction on content syndication sites.
  2. That content can be compelling when repurposed for use on social media sites.

What does your dream blog look like? Do you see yourself smiling with fulfillment knowing you created a community of readers you serve without having to spend all day and night on the computer?

It gets better: In addition to the many benefits of using content syndication sites, you have a chance to make money when you publish your blog content on some of these content syndication platforms.

Let’s discover how to repurpose blog content to boost traffic and save time.

How to Do Content Repurposing of Blog Content

What is repurposing?

Repurposing means to “find another use for.” By finding new uses for old content, you don’t need to keep creating content in order to get blog traffic.

Follow these tips to get new traffic from previously published content.

Syndicate Your Content

Content syndication sites are websites that publish blog content. Since these sites have buttons that share your posts to Social Media sites you extend your reach on both the syndication site’s platform and social media websites as well.

This is a win-win situation:

  • You get exposure to new audiences.
  • Syndication provides a link that gives you SEO benefits.
  • The content grows your brand.
  • And you don’t have to create new content.

You might wonder why the content syndication site would publish your content free of charge. Simple! They get a quality article for their readers. Win-win.

High DR Content Syndication Sites

Are you familiar with the Ahrefs’ metric the Domain Rating (DR)? The DR shows the link strength of a website; the higher the number, the greater the authority of the blog.

All these content syndication sites are high authority blogs:

Scoop.it, DR 86

What is Scoop.it?

Using Scoop.it, you can discover new content in your niche and meet like-minded content creators.

Promoting your posts using Scoop.it takes mere seconds.

Post the link and the insights people gain from reading your post. You can save time by copying your blog post’s meta description and pasting it into the Insights field.

At Scoop.it, articles are organized by topics. With a free account, your topic choices are limited, so choose your blog’s niche.

Steem.it, DR 67

Have you heard of Steam, a form of Cryptocurrency?

Steem.it is a social media site as well as a content syndication site. They actually pay content creators. You get paid for activity and traffic. Steem.it pays you in a form of Cryptocurrency called “Steam.”

Since Cryptocurrency is not subject to government scrutiny, you will find wild swings in the value of your Steam wallet.

Here you will find more information on how to make money on Steemit.

Go to https://steem.com/.

Medium, DR 94

Like Steem.it, Medium pays content creators that are members of the Medium Partner Program. You need a Stripe account to receive your funds.

Writing on Medium is easy. Copy at least half of your article, and then, instead of posting all the tips and the conclusion, add “to read more of these tips, see…” and then paste your URL.

Your syndicated content becomes a teaser in order to generate blog traffic. However, the longer readers engage with your article, the more you get paid.

There are different publications within Medium that help you gain audience interest. They are free to join.

Engagement groups can also help you generate traction on Medium. Here is the link to my favorite Medium engagement group.

Medium charges $5.00 per month to be able to read unlimited articles, but you can write articles on Medium for free.

Go to Medium.com.

GrowthHackers, DR 79

If you are in the blogging, marketing, or social media niche, this site is for you. GrowthHackers hosts conferences and webinars for marketers.

You’ll find serious marketers there. Sometimes, I notice the site retweets my posts on Twitter which helps social media reach.

Like Scoop.it, the content at GrowthHackers is organized around topics.

Use Social Media Sites for Content Repurposing

In addition to putting your blog posts on content syndication sites and hoping a visitor to the site shares your post on social media, you can post your articles directly to Social Media Sites yourself.

Let me share some data: In 2020, 1.3 million new users logged onto social media each day. Three billion people use Facebook and Instagram combined. You can’t afford to ignore this kind of audience.

In contrast to content syndication sites, you don’t even need to copy-paste your article to promote on social media sites. Simply paste the URL and some promotional context.

Facebook

I have had great success with Facebook groups. For many years, promoting to Facebook groups was my main source of social traffic.

This is one of the advantages of Facebook: Unlike sites like Reddit, you can promote your content in relevant Facebook groups without looking like a spammer.

To find a Facebook group that is relevant for your niche, go to the Facebook search bar and type your niche + group and see what populates.

Twitter

In addition to Facebook, you can use Twitter to post your live link.

Another way to effortlessly repurpose a blog post is to turn it into snackable social quotes which are then automatically distributed by your social automation tool of choice.

For example, I’ve recently noticed that my friend Nikola is heavily repurposing this post on social media.

Take a look at this example from Twitter:

And judging by his post’ shortened links (extension= lttr) he’s using Missinglettr to do it.

Missinglettr is unique because it uses AI to create social content for you, so there’s basically zero effort on the blogger’s part to get the promotional campaign going. Smart!

Editor note: You can also use Viral Content Bee (VCB) to get influencers to share your content with their own followings.

There is a totally free version and also a Pro version for more benefits. VCB allows them to promote your content to Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Mix, Flipboard and now Telegram.

Ready to Do Content Repurposing?

In closing, this guide gave you actionable strategies. In this action plan, you received four content syndication sites that you can use to republish your articles.

Also, you received ideas for how to repurpose your content by posting links and a short blurb with context on two social media sites.

Can you suggest more ways to repurpose your content?
