West Bank conflict Palestine to Israel

Hello, my audience On the night of July 3rd of the 2023.

The people of Jenin camp in occupied Palestine started receiving text messages. These messages were coming from the numbers of their powerful occupying neighbor Israel. A warning was given to them that everyone should stay in their homes, so that no harm comes to them. These messages were sent to the phones of those living in Jenin. But in Jenin itself, the youth of the armed organization, the militants, received another kind of threatening message. They received a text saying "Surrender yourself to us for your safety and the safety of those around you." Along with this, another message was also sent to the common people. It said that the residents of the Jenin camp should leave the area for a period of time. It means that the area should be vacated. The first message means stay locked in your homes and this message means leave the area. Both meant the same thing and everyone in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank understood it. That is, the Israeli army is about to attack, when they come, let no one stand in their way. Either stay stuck in the houses or leave the area and go somewhere else.
At midnight some families picked up their belongings, a single woman hugged a child, someone carried a lantern and someone pushed his old mother's wheel to leave the camp to save his parents and children from a possible attack. But the number of those who went was not much. Shortly after these messages, at one o'clock in the night, 2,000 Israeli soldiers stormed the Jenin camp. The forces were accompanied by helicopters, spy drones, fighter aircraft, military bulldozers and fully loaded military vehicles. Helicopters and drones fired at predetermined locations and launched missiles. While the military bulldozers were being kept at the forefront to make way for military vehicles. So that if there is any landmine or booby trap, it can be avoided. All the attacks Israel has made on the Palestinian territories for two decades, It was the largest, most advanced, modern air assault of them all. According to Israeli officials, "Operation Jenin" was being carried out to destroy a "militant command center" in the Occupied West Bank. According to them, this command center was jointly used by militant organizations of the West Bank, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad , and it was from here that attacks on Israel were planned and executed. When this attack started at 1 o'clock on Monday night in Jenin refugee camp, 9 Palestinians were already killed and around 100 Palestinians were injured in the first attack. According to international media, some of them were in critical condition. Israeli forces entered the refugee camp and bombarded it from the air and from the ground. demolishing buildings and claiming to have destroyed the militants' operational center. When the operation began, IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht said there is no timeline on this right now, Military action will continue until Israel achieves all its desired targets. This is Israel's standard pattern, they always do it so that more people leave the area and it is easier for Israel to operate and then it is not difficult to settle new settlements there. But despite being told to continue the operation for an unlimited time, the Israeli army retreated on the second day. On July 15, he said that we have achieved our targets. Israeli Defense Minister "Yoav Gallant" said that for two years, Jenin was a terror factory, which was dismantled today. In two days we have destroyed their weapons capability, seized thousands of bombs, some small and some large, destroyed dozens of factories, workshops, and laboratories. The military spokesperson also said that we have arrested 110 Palestinians who will now be interrogated. In this two-day operation, 12 young Palestinian were killed, four of them were under eighteen. On the other hand, a 23-year-old Israeli soldier was also killed during Operation Jenin. The IDF believes it was most likely killed by their own fire. All this happened between July 3 and 5. In two days, Israeli forces demolished several buildings, The bulldozers, which they had brought with them to protect them, demolished the roads of the refugee camp. The infrastructure of the area was destroyed, making the roads unusable. People's vehicles, shops, and property were also destroyed by bulldozers and firing. The Jenin camp where this attack took place is a refugee camp. It is so small that it is even smaller than the Shahi Fort in Lahore or the Red Fort in Delhi. This whole town is about a quarter square mile. More than seventeen thousand people live in narrow streets in such a small place. And these are mostly the same people who are already homeless and vulnerable. As the Israeli newspaper also wrote that the 14 thousand refugees here are the ones who came here after being displaced in 1948. Now they have included several thousand who have been expelled from their homes by Israel for settlements. Why did Israel do this attack on people who are suffering from torture? Before we tell you the background and geopolitics of this, let's put both sides in front of you. The Israeli Defense Forces, the IDF, released a 45-second video on its official Twitter account after launching Operation Jenin. In this, they alleged that the Janin camp has become a base for many terrorist organizations. Weapons are manufactured and stored here. Israeli citizens are attacked from here. They said in this message that since 2022, 55 attacks have taken place inside Israel from the Jenin camp. In the same video, they threatened that we, the Israeli forces, will not sit and watch all this. We will destroy the infrastructure of the terrorists and provide a peaceful life to the citizens here. This is the Israeli version. You have seen in the pictures how they were destroying the infrastructure for a peaceful life. In contrast, Kamal Abu al-Rub, the deputy governor of Jenin, was asked why Israel was attacked from the Jenin camp So he replied, "There are no attacks on Israel from here. Rather, Israel attacks our homes on our territory , then we also have the right to defend our honor and dignity. because we are the rightful owners of this land. The people of Jenin and the Deputy Governor believe that Israel is now aggressively attacking. Arab countries and the Arab League have turned their backs on us. It seems that the Israeli forces have got the green signal to attack us. The Deputy Governor also said that Israel not only attacked us. killing people but also destroying the infrastructure of the refugee camp. Our electricity, water, and communication lines have also been cut. Israeli forces are doing terrorism. So this was the story of both sides But the fact is that every day in the occupied Palestinian territories a similar action is taking place in some place. We do not go into the long history because you have seen that history here in this video. Now we present the current situation to you. Look at this map, it has both the Palestinian territories and Israel in front of you. Yellow represents all of Israel. Like a unit. And these broken red areas are occupied Palestinian territories. But among them, there are two major parts in the East and the West. On the eastern side is the Occupied West Bank, formerly occupied by Jordan on its western bank and on the western side, this 11 km wide and 40 km long strip called the Gaza Strip. According to the United Nations and international organizations, these two parts have been under Israeli occupation since 1967. Now, both of them are Occupied Territories, but the political situation of both is different. As the Palestinian Authority, the PA, has some control over this relatively large portion of Palestine, the occupied West Bank, Which is considered to be the representative government of the Palestinians. Its head is Mahmood Abbas. This control is recognized under international agreements such as the Oslo Accords. But even this authority is not over the entire West Bank. According to the Oslo Accords of 93 and 95, the West Bank has three parts. A, B, and C. The part in red in the close-up map is "Area A". It is a very small part of the West Bank, only 18 percent. It is fully controlled by the Palestinian Authority. The police, which is under the Palestinian Authority, looks after the security here and provides basic facilities including education. Yes, it is different that he needs Israeli support for all this. Gaza also falls in the same "Area A", but instead of the Palestinian Authority in Gaza, the Palestinian jihadist organization Hamas is in power. Where Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh is the senior leader. All matters of Gaza, including security, education, water, and health, are handled by the Hamas organization. This small strip from Sixty-Seven is also under Israeli siege and for any support including basic facilities , It needs the cooperation of the United Nations and Israeli forces. Because it is surrounded by Israeli forces on all sides except a small Egyptian border. Then see on the map that this second is "Area B" in light red color. This is 22% of the West Bank. Area B is under the political control of the Palestinian Authority, but Israeli and Palestinian police work together in policing and security. But the Palestinian police are so under-resourced that virtually all security and policing are left to Israeli forces. So, in practice, the Palestinian Authority cannot do anything for the Palestinians in Area B except for a few office affairs and providing an ambulance. Most of the agricultural area of Palestine is in this part. Farms etc are all here. There are more than four hundred small villages here. All of these, crops and animals require water and electricity. And for both of these things, once again, the Palestinian Authority is completely dependent on Israel's cooperation. Because the area through which the way to get water to these lands passes is in the complete possession of Israel. And there are Israeli military installations and that is Area C. Yes, Area C, which is also the largest, covers over 60% of the West Bank. You can see it in light cream color, it may also appear white on some screens. Under the Oslo Accords, Area C, which contains all of the West Bank's resources, including water, is fully under the control of Israeli forces. Israel is settling more and more Jewish people in this place, in order to change the demography of the area. Imagine that in 1972, only 1,000 Israelis lived here. While today more than 360,000 Israeli settlers live here in 125 settlements. In addition to these A, B, and C areas, the West Bank also included the eastern area of Jerusalem, which was formerly with Palestine, but now Israel has declared it as its own territory You have seen the video of Donald Trump coming here and recognized it as the capital of Israel If you want a house, shop, or land , you will get a permit for all of them from the Israeli authority. This may seem very strange to you that one state is dependent on another. Yes, it is. In short, just understand that in 1948, when the Middle East was torn apart, Israel was established in Palestinian territory. According to the map of that time, Palestine included West Bank and Gaza. This division was not recognized by the Arabs. From the first day, fighting started in the Israeli and Palestinian territories. In 1967, Israel attacked its Arab neighbors by saying that they were preparing to attack it. A great battle took place. Today it is called the "Six Days War". Against Israel was a coalition of Arab countries including Syria, Egypt, and Jordan. In this war, Israel defeated them with American help. But the biggest loss of this war was that Israel formally occupied the West Bank and Gaza. That is why these areas are universally called the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Since the June 1967 war, Palestinians have been continuously driven from their homes, especially in the West Bank, and replaced by Israeli settlements. There was much anger in Hamas in Gaza and the West Bank against the same occupation. They were not recognizing Israel before, so now their homes have been taken away. But they could not turn this anger into victory, because they were too weak. The world also did not recognize Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories, but was not doing anything to end this occupation. So Israel gradually started demolishing the Palestinians from their homes in the West Bank and Gaza. A mild resistance also started from the Palestinian side, but without any results. So what happened is that one day the lava erupted. In 1987, Al-Fatah and Hamas, the two largest Palestinian organizations, started a regular war against the Israeli forces. Both the military and political wings of these two organizations work side by side. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a slightly smaller organization from those days, also joined the new struggle. By the way, the guerrilla operations of these three against the Israeli attacks were going on before, but they were on a very small scale and without Coordination. But now, with the financial support of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and the support of many wealthy Arabs, a strong resistance began in Eighty-Seven. It was called the Intifada al-Aqsa, meaning the battle for control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This first intifada lasted four to five years. 1900 Palestinians were killed in it while 200 Israelis were killed. The Palestinian losses were high, but the problem was that they had nothing left to lose. They had already lost their land and were now giving their lives to get it back. While Israel was worried about its security. There were suicide attacks in its cities and citizens lived in fear. So both sides started thinking about a peace deal in the nineties, backed by American efforts. In the 1990s, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Al-Fatah's Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat tried to resolve the issue through negotiations. Two agreements were signed for this in 1993 and 1995. They are called Oslo Accords. Because it happened in Oslo, Norway. According to these agreements, Israeli forces will gradually withdraw from the West Bank and Gaza and their management will be handed over to the Palestinian Council, now called the Palestinian Authority. In this, all these A, B, and C areas were fixed. But the spirit of this agreement was that in this way Israel and Palestine will become two neighboring countries. The two-state formula will apply. Israel will not seek to annihilate Palestine and Palestinian jihadist organizations will not attack Israel. These two countries will be formed on pre-Nineteen Sixty-seven borders. The Oslo Accords were signed in September 1995. US President Bill Clinton was its guarantor. Because of the same peace agreement, Yasser Arafat, Shimon Peres, and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin were also awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. But let me tell you, friends, that both the extremists in Israel and the jihadist groups in Palestine refused to recognize the agreement. Israeli extremists went to the extent of killing Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who brokered this peace deal, in the second month of the agreement. At a time when he was holding a peace rally, he was shot dead. His killer was an extremist Jewish youth, Ejal Amir, who claimed that according to Jewish law, the killing of Yitzhak Rabin was permissible and that a rabbi had told him this. The Israeli court did not accept his argument and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Well, he is still in jail. So, just as the Israeli right wing did not recognize the Oslo Peace Accords, The Palestinian jihadist organization Hamas also called it a disloyalty to the Palestinian cause. They want the end of all of Israel and say that all this territory is ours and we will take it back. So, since the agreement between Al-Fateh's Yasser Arafat and Hamas, a rift has started, and the result is that the extremists on both sides did not accept this agreement Since then, the agreement has been on paper. In practice, it is almost impossible to implement. Because the Israeli forces are not transferring the control of the West Bank to the Palestinian Authority step by step according to the agreement, more and more Jewish settlements are being continuously settled in the West Bank. Then it cannot be implemented because there is no unity in the Palestinian Authority. The two powerful factions of Palestine, Hamas, and al-Fatah, are also at loggerheads. Many attempts at reconciliation between them have failed. The latest fighting in the series took place shortly after the last Palestinian Authority elections. These elections were held in 2006 and Hamas won the Legislative Assembly elections. After which Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas became the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority. But immediately the two organizations began to quarrel over power and the cabinet, so the president of Fatah, the head of the Palestinian Authority, dismissed Ismail Haniyeh. Ismail Haniyeh refused to accept the authority of President Mahmoud Abbas and established his own government in Gaza. Since then, Palestinian Authority elections have not been held and Mahmoud Abbas is a weak Authority leader in the West Bank. During this time, there were several bloody clashes between Hamas and Al-Fatah. About whom such news was leaked that the British intelligence agency MI6 had helped Al-Fatah against Hamas. Since then, the supporters of Hamas began to look at Al-Fatah with suspicion that they have not become foreign agents. This division is exacerbated by Israel through its propaganda and media war. At the same time, Israel does another thing. He is always looking for new places in the West Bank and bringing the Jewish population from all over the world to settle there. These settlements are against international law, many countries including the United Nations, especially Canada, Australia, and Great Britain, speak against it. But the Israeli government does all these settlements without listening to anyone's voice. How do they settle? They are such that the Israeli government first declares settlements in the West Bank, that is, in the occupied territory and the territory that is not part of them according to international law. You can see this poster near Jenin Camp and the ad is from a few months ago, it says in Hebrew, "Luxury Flats, Mountain Living". So by announcing such societies security forces are given the task of securing the place. Then the Israeli security agencies start evicting the Palestinians who have been living here for centuries under the pretext of securing this place. Their houses start to collapse. And those who throw stones, and start resistance together with Hamas, are branded as terrorists and shot. At the same time, Jews from all over the world are appealed to come and settle there. For this, they are impressed by the Jewish cause, tax breaks and the Zionist dream of Greater Israel is used. Greater Israel is the dream of extreme right-wing Jews in which they say we are to restore King David's kingdom. A kingdom that exists in their stories they say will restore it. The maps that are available for this on the websites include the entire territory of Palestine and Jordan, besides the geography of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, and Egypt are included in Greater Israel. So you understand that it has become a business as well as an occupation of the Israeli government. In which several billion-dollar industries are involved. From builders to political leaders who get free land and earn billions from it. Then the religious touch is sold separately. However, at the moment Israel is ruled by a religious touch, Netanyahu has come up with the slogan that he will make the Palestinian territories fully part of Israel He says that establishing settlements will not affect the Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement. Although you already know that this is the whole argument. So friends, in exactly the same style, on June 26, the news was published in the international media and Israeli newspapers that the Israeli Defense Ministry Committee has approved the construction of 5,000 new homes in the occupied West Bank. These housing colonies were planned around the Janin camp. At the same time, Palestinian Authority officials declared it an open war against Palestine. But Israel, according to its plan, will spread fear here, so much fear that more and more residents will flee in fear. Then there will be only those who are willing to fight the Israeli forces. They will throw stones, take weapons from the Israeli forces and shoot them, and then what else will they do? So by showing their pictures and videos, Israel will call them terrorists and use full force to eliminate them too. At the same time, bulldozer attacks will destroy the infrastructure of the place to such an extent that it will not be habitable. So here's the background and our stance on the two-day Israeli Jenin operation. And finally tell you the details of what Israel is doing there, just as Hitler declared war on the Jews in Germany and refused to recognize their rights, The right-wing of Israel has a similar mindset. The right-wing whose commander is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the moment. According to Israeli newspapers, Netanyahu is carrying out large-scale operations against Palestinians , under pressure from his far-right coalition partners, even more so than himself. This mindset has dominated Israel from day one. When Jewish settlements were being settled in Israel in the early 20th century, the Zionists, the Jews who wanted to create a Greater Israel, had a particular slogan. In which he used to invite Jews from all over the world here. Their slogan was "O People without a Land. Come to a Land without People". Those who have no land, come where there are no people. That is, in Palestine. Meaning, they refused to recognize the existence of the Arabs living here. If you are thinking that the people of Palestine sold their land to the Jews in the beginning,, then that is correct. We have explained this in detail in this video, but it does not mean that after taking the land, you should evict those people who have not sold the land from that place. So, we were talking about the mindset of the Israeli right wing. In sixty-nine, the prime minister of Israel, Golda Meir, gave an interview and said that there was no such thing as Palestine. When asked again in Seventy-Two if she still believes this, she reiterates that she believes there never was a Palestinian nation. On this, Israel's world-renowned historian Yuval Noah Harari satirically wrote against those who think that it is surprising that we have been fighting with them for decades, which are not there. How state propaganda silences good minds, Let me give you another example. In 2016, a female Israeli member of parliament said that Palestinians never existed in Arab history. He gave proof of this that there is no letter "P" sound in Arabic, so where did Palestine come to the Arabs? Although even a common student knows that Palestine is called Palestine in English, while the original name Falestine is from the Arabic letter ''Fa''. Friends, the issue of Israel and Palestine is very complicated. There are many issues on both sides that cannot be fully covered in a short video. We have only talked a little about Israeli settlements, taking an example from a recent tragedy. To understand its ancient background, how Israel came into being and how the Arab world fought a long war against Israel but lost, why did they lose, what was this war? You can see the whole story here. Here's why there was a mutiny in the Russian army and here's a short story from Frankenstein's Monster novel
