Superman Just Destroyed Kingdom Come's Man of Steel with 1 Sentence

Superman despises the Kingdom Come version of himself for failing to protect his friends, as seen in Batman/Superman: World's Finest #21.

The Kingdom Come universe features a changing world that has lost its love for traditional superheroes, and Superman does not acknowledge this dark world.

Superman's first impression of Kingdom Come was that it was a graveyard full of superheroes, leading him to believe that Kingdom Come Superman was unable to adequately protect people.

Due to a devastating insult, Superman appears to be holding another version of himself to a higher standard of himself. When Superman comes face-to-face with an alternate version of himself from the legendary Kingdom Come universe, all he feels is contempt for the Man of Steel for failing to save his friend.


KINGDOM COME This brutal defeat of Superman's inability to protect those around him is illustrated in Batman/Superman: World War II by Mark Waid, Dan Mora, Tamra Bonvillein, and Steve Wands. Seen in "Nest" #21. When Kingdom Come Superman arrives to protect Thunderman from Earth-Prime's Superman, Earth-Prime has the following insult in store for Superman: "So you have someone?

There are many dark universes in the DC Multiverse, but one of the darker ones was the Kingdom Come universe, which is explored again in this modern storyline. This world is dark not because of the existence of twisted heroes, but simply because we have lost love for the archaic versions of these heroes and the world is changing. The Superman of this world was unable to protect many people and created a dark world. It's a world that the main Superman of the DCU universe simply doesn't approve of.
