Priscilla Shirer was born in Dallas, Texas, on December 31, 1974, in the U.S.A. She was raised with a strong biblical foundation as the daughter of Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas. She worked as an intern for a Christian radio station during her first year at the University of Houston. Soon, listeners started calling the station to ask Priscilla to speak at their Bible study groups and other gatherings.
She soon received an invitation to oversee a weekly Bible study at the Zig Ziglar Company before being asked to join its speaker team. Priscilla has hosted a local television programme and worked as an independent contractor for CBS, but lately, she has only been interested in Christian ministry opportunities. She calls Anne Graham Lotz, daughter of Evangelist Rev. Billy Graham, her mentor in ministry.
The Shirers (Priscilla and her husband Jerry) established Going Beyond Ministries, a speaker bureau of Bible teachers that includes Priscilla. The parents of three young boys, the Shirers, divide their time between family and ministry. Priscilla still works as a full-time minister, but Jerry manages Jerry’s schedule and other business-related aspects of Going Beyond Ministries.

A local outreach event called AWAKEN is hosted by Going Beyond Ministries to uplift and inspire women there. Every year, in an effort to spark revival, this free event brings together tens of thousands of women from various backgrounds and denominations.
