Like many people, I as well was nervous about visiting Delhi, but so far Delhi has treated in the best way as possible. From Top Attractions to Top Street Food, Delhi will never fail to surprise you. Three days is the perfect amount of time to stay in Delhi.

Well, to be detailed, Delhi is segregated into three parts. Let’s begin from the bustling chaos of Old Delhi, where lies a treasure trove of history, Culture, and Flavors. It’s narrow lanes and chaotic markets bear witness to centuries of stories, struggles and success.
New Delhi, on the other hand, stands for Modernity and governance. Designed by British Architect, this part of the city includes wide avenues, government buildings, and the iconic India Gate.
Coming to the south part of Delhi, where tradition meets trend. Amidst the tree-lined streets, or dive into the serenity of Lotus Temple, you’ll find upscale neighbourhoods, designer boutiques and a standard way of living. Well, Delhi surely has major top attractions to leave you surprised!

One of the major top attraction of Delhi is “RED FORT” also known as “Lal Qila”, was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. The fort is an embodiment of Mughal architecture and represents the cultural aesthetics. The Red Fort is not only a symbol of Mughal magnificence but also holds deep historical significance for India. Visiting Red Fort is like stepping back in time to witness India’s glorious past. There is no place in this world as quite as Red Fort. It gives you signs of peace and serenity. Coming to the second major attraction of Delhi, it lies in the heart of Old Delhi, named as “JAMA MASJID”. It is a magnificient architectural marvel and stands as a testament to the rich cultural and historical heritage of Delhi. It stands as a must visit place for tourists. The construction of JAMA MASJID, also known as “Friday Mosque”, was commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It is renowned for its architectural brilliance, making it one of the largest Mosques in India. Jama Masjid continues to be an important place of worship in Delhi. The atmosphere is one of devotion, tranquility, and a deep sense of history. Jama Masjid is open to visitors daily, but there is a small entry fee for tourists. Minimal clothing is advisable, and is recommended to visit during the early morning or by evening for a stunning panaromic view and to avoid the mid-day heat. Also, it’s a15 minutes walk from Red Fort, so after Red Fort, Jama Masjid would be your next destination.

Well, how can I not mention Chandni Chowk when it comes to the Old Delhi discussion. When travelling back to the Mughal Era, Chandni Chowk has been a vibrant centre for centuries. Time seems to stand still at the vibrant charm of Chandni Chowk. It offers you a glimpse into it’s rich heritages and energizing markets. Explore the narrow lanes that beautifies Old-Havelis, Aromatic Spice Shops, Exquisite Jewellery Stores, and Stalls carrying Delicious Street Food. Trust me on this, when I say this place feels like India. The perfect blend of old-world charm and modern conveniences as you walk through the market’s diverse offerings. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a food lover, a shopaholic or simply looking for a timeless vibes, Chandni Chowk has something for everyone. THE PLACE! THE HORNS! THE CHAOS! THE TRAFFIC! YOU WON’T GET ENOUGH OF IT! I suggest you to carry a camera along as you might you wanna capture this timeless vibe, though the camera won’t do justice to it. This would be your third stop as it’s just a minute walk from Jama Masjid.

Your next stop for Day 2 would be India Gate — it’s a 25 minutes walk from Stepwell, situated in the heart of New Delhi which stands as a symbol of National Pride. This monument holds a great remembrance to the nation’s pride and unity. It looks so divine as it is covered by lush green lawns and surrounded by trees. The monument looks heavenly during evenings with all the sparkle and lovely lighting. The monument is open to visitors throughout the year, and there is no entry fee. The sight of the garden in full bloom is a sight to witness, with vibrant colours and fragrant blooms. The tomb is open to the public everyday, and an entry fee is charged for both domestic and international visitors. Here comes Safdarjung Tomb, one of the major attractions of New Delhi, at least for me. Within walking distance from Humayun’s Tomb, you’ll find a magnificent monument that stands as a testament to the Mughal Era. Built in the 18th century, this monument is a fusion of Mughal and Persian architectural styles, characterised by red sandstone structure and striking white marble domes. It is a very popular and mesmerising tourists destination and hence attracts history enthusiasts, travellers, tourists, nature lovers, photographers, creators and so on. The monument looks lovely during sunset when the warm hues of the setting sun creates a glow upon its surface. The Tomb is open to visitors from dawn to dusk and there is a modest entry fee. It stands as a perfect spot for picnics, gatherings, yoga, exercise and somebody who wants a break from crowded streets and is seeking for peace. The Garden is open for public everyday and is free of cost. It stands as a testament to the timeless beauty of Delhi’s past and charm.
