2.13 MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF RAMPS

CDA (Capital Development Authority) Bylaws in Islamabad, Pakistan, and it pertains to the Maximum Height allowed for ramps in front of houses. Let's break down what it means:

2.13 MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF RAMPS

2.13.1           For all houses maximum height of ramp shall be one foot (12”) (recommended up to 2.5’ or as per at site topographical conditions) from the road level to entry gate. The difference of road and plinth levels may be adjusted with in the plot, Ramps constructed beyond the above-mentioned limits, shall be demolished.

Maximum Height of Ramps: According to the bylaws, for all houses, the Maximum Height Allowed for a ramp from the road level to the entry gate is one foot (12 inches). In other words, the ramp's elevation above the road level should not exceed one foot.

Recommended Variation: The bylaws also recommend that ramps can be constructed with a height of up to 2.5 feet (or as per on-site topographical conditions). This suggests that while the maximum height allowed is one foot, there is some flexibility based on the specific conditions of the property or site.

Adjustment of Levels: It is mentioned that the difference in height between the road level and the plinth level (the base or foundation of the house) can be adjusted within the plot. This allows property owners to accommodate the slope or terrain of their land while constructing ramps.

Demolition of Excessive Ramps: The bylaws are clear that ramps constructed beyond the specified limits (more than one foot in height) shall be demolished. This means that if a ramp is built higher than the allowed limit, it will need to be modified or removed to comply with the regulations.

These regulations are in place to ensure that ramps in front of houses do not create excessive elevation differences between the road and the entry gate. This is important for safety and accessibility reasons. Property owners and builders should adhere to these regulations when constructing ramps for their houses in Islamabad to avoid non-compliance issues and potential demolition of non-compliant structures.
