Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) is set to hold its Student Union Government (SUG) re-election today, following the annulment of the previous election that was marred by irregularities. The re-election will be conducted through an online e-voting system that allows students to cast their votes from anywhere.

The SUG re-election is expected to be a keen contest among the candidates vying for various positions, especially the presidency. The candidates have been campaigning vigorously on social media platforms, highlighting their manifestos and soliciting for support from their fellow students. Some of the issues that have dominated the campaigns include security, welfare, academic excellence, and infrastructural development.

The re-election will be supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) of the SUG, which has assured the students of a free, fair, and credible exercise. The EC has also urged the students to participate actively in the re-election and exercise their civic rights responsibly. The EC has advised the students to verify their eligibility and follow the instructions on how to vote on the official website of the SUG

The re-election will commence by 10:00 am and end by 4:00 pm today. The results will be announced shortly after the voting process is completed. The new SUG executives will be sworn in on Friday, August 25, 2023.
