Nigerian music industry is no stranger to beefs and rivalries among artists. Sometimes, these beefs are fueled by competition, jealousy, or personal issues. One of the most recent and controversial beefs in the industry is between two fast-rising singers, Portable and Seyi Vibez.

Portable, whose real name is Oluwaseun Oluwatosin, is a singer and songwriter who rose to fame with his hit song Zazu in 2022. He is known for his unique style of music, which blends Afrobeat, street pop, and Fuji. He has collaborated with other artists such as Naira Marley, Zlatan, and Mohbad.

Seyi Vibez, whose real name is Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, is also a singer and songwriter who gained popularity with his song God Sent in 2021. He is known for his melodious voice and inspirational lyrics. He has worked with other artists such as Lyta, Barry Jhay, and Bella Shmurda.

The beef between Portable and Seyi Vibez started when Portable accused Seyi Vibez of being ungrateful and disrespectful to him. Portable claims that Seyi Vibez urged him to perform at his show when he was just starting to get popular in the industry, and he obliged without charging him anything. However, Seyi Vibez declined Portable’s invitation to appear on his own show when he made the decision to do so, and the invitation went unanswered.

Portable revealed this on The Honest Bunch, a podcast show hosted by media personality Nedu. He said:

“I then invite Seyi Vibez to my own show via message and he didn’t show up nor did he reply my message, after you don use my glory to shine, you no won come my show.”

Portable also alleged that Seyi Vibez copied his style of music and tried to overshadow him. He said:

“He dey copy my style of music, he dey try to be like me but he no fit. He dey use money buy fame but I dey use talent blow.”

Portable further stated that he has no respect for Seyi Vibez and that he would never work with him again. He said:

“I no get respect for am again, I no go ever do song with am again. He be fake person, he no dey loyal.”

The beef between Portable and Seyi Vibez has sparked reactions from fans and followers of both artists. Some have taken sides with either of them, while others have urged them to settle their differences and make peace.
