Yesterday’s budget projects debt to stabilise in 2025/26 at a lower level than in the MTBPS of last year. In large part, this reflects a planned draw-down of Treasury’s Gold and Foreign Exchange Contingency Reserve Account (GFECRA) with SARB to reduce borrowing.
