Microsoft Unveils Three New Surface Laptops Go 3, Go 4, And Studio 2: Here's What You Need to Know

Microsoft recently hosted its Surface launch event, introducing several exciting software and hardware innovations. Among the highlights were three new Surface laptops: the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, the Surface Go 4 2-in-1, and the Laptop Studio 2. In this article, we'll dive into the specifications, prices, and availability of these devices.


Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3

The Surface Laptop Go 3 boasts a 12.4-Inch Pixelsense Touchscreen display with a resolution of 148 pixels per inch. It supports 10-point multi-touch input and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, it is powered by an Intel 12th Generation Core i5-1235U processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, paired with 8GB of RAM in the base variant (upgradable to 16GB LPDDR5). The laptop features a removable solid-state drive with a capacity of 256GB.


Additional features include up to 15 hours of battery life, a 720p HD camera, Dolby Audio Premium speakers, and studio microphones for clear voice during video calls. The laptop offers various ports, including a USB-C 3.2 port, a USB-A 3.1 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect Port. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.1. Out of the box, the device runs on Windows 11 Home.


Pricing for the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 starts at $799 for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at $999. The device will be available in the United States starting from October 3, 2023, with color options including Sandstone, Sage, Ice Blue, and Platinum.


Microsoft Surface Go 4 2-In-1

The Surface Go 4 2-in-1 is designed for businesses and enterprises. It features a 10.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with a resolution of 220 pixels per inch and a maximum brightness of 350 nits. The device is powered by the Intel N200 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage options ranging from 64GB to 256GB.


The device offers up to 12.5 hours of battery life, TPM 2.0 for enterprise-grade security, and support for Windows Hello face sign-in. Additional features include a 1080p FHD front camera, an 8MP FHD rear camera, studio microphones, and 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio. Connectivity options include a USB-C 3.1 port, a microSDXC card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth v5.1.


The Surface Go 4 2-in-1 supports the Surface Pen and the Class Pen 2 and runs on Windows 11 Pro or Windows 10 Pro out of the box. It is available in Platinum finish, with prices starting from $579 for the 64GB variant. It will also be available from October 3, 2023.


Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 features a 14.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen display with a resolution of 200 pixels per inch, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by Intel's 13th Generation Core i7-13700H processor with Gen3 Movidius 3700VC AI Accelerator. Users can choose from various GPU options, including Intel's integrated graphics and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM.


RAM options include 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, while storage options range from 512GB to 2TB. Battery life varies, with models featuring Intel Iris Xe GPU offering up to 19 hours and Nvidia GPU variants with a 2TB SSD providing up to 16 hours. Additional features include a 1080p FHD front camera, speakers with Dolby Atmos, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one USB-A 3.1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.


Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth v5.3, and the device supports the Surface Slim Pen 2. It runs on Windows 11 Home and comes with preloaded Microsoft 365 apps. The starting price for the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is $1,999. Availability is expected to be the same as other Surface products.
