Apple Watch Battery Replacement Cost Sees Increase

Apple has raised the battery replacement cost for nearly all Apple Watch models by an additional $20, increasing the cost of the service from $79 to $99. This change applies to various Apple Watch models, including the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, Apple Watch Series 8, and older iterations.

AppleCare+ subscribers, however, receive some respite, as they can have their Apple Watch batteries replaced at no extra charge if the battery retains less than 80 percent of its original capacity.

Previously, Apple implemented a similar $20 price hike for battery replacement on iPhone models. The increased battery replacement costs applied to iPhone 13 or older models, with the change taking effect on March 1. As of now, battery replacements for iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and iPhone X lineups are priced at $89, while the iPhone 14 battery replacement comes in at $99.

Apple has consistently offered battery replacement services, extending as far back as the Apple Watch 2, which made its debut in 2016.

On a brighter note, Apple continues to innovate and expand its smartwatch lineup. Recently, on September 12, the company introduced the Apple Watch Series 9 alongside the Apple Watch Ultra 2. The Series 9 features an always-on retina display with a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. Powered by the new Apple S9 SiP (system in package) and equipped with a second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip, this smartwatch is touted to deliver up to 18 hours of battery life on a single charge. Apple's commitment to enhancing its products and services remains unwavering, ensuring users have access to cutting-edge technology.
