The highly anticipated Oneplus 12 smartphone is reportedly in development and expected to be officially unveiled in December this year or early 2024. Prior to its launch, detailed specifications of the device have been leaked by an online publication. According to the leak, the OnePlus 12 is said to feature an AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also rumored to be equipped with the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The handset is expected to come with a 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Renowned tipster Steve H. McFly (@OnLeaks), in collaboration with Smartprix, shared the comprehensive specifications of the upcoming OnePlus 12.
According to the leak, the OnePlus 12 will run on Android 14 with OxygenOS 14 layered on top. It is said to boast a 6.7-inch fluid LTPO AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is rumored to feature a hole-punch cutout to accommodate the front-facing camera. Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's next-generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It may offer 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
In terms of photography, the OnePlus 12 is rumored to sport a Hasselblad-branded triple-camera setup. This setup is said to include a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 64-megapixel telephoto camera. The device may also offer 3X optical zoom capabilities. For selfies, a 32-megapixel sensor is expected on the front. Additionally, the OnePlus 12 might feature an alert slider and an in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication.
As for the battery, the OnePlus 12 is speculated to house a 5,400mAh battery with support for fast 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The OnePlus 12 will likely succeed the OnePlus 11 5G, which was launched in India in February. The OnePlus 11 5G features a 6.7-inch Quad-HD+ AMOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of 0-120Hz. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and comes with a 50-megapixel rear camera setup and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 100W SuperVOOC fast charging. Pricing for the OnePlus 12 has not been revealed yet.
