Ukraine mentioned Sunday that it had destroyed 22 Russian drones on the southern Odesa area, as Moscow mentioned it hit the Danube port of Reni, on the border with NATO member Romania.

Russia has been concentrating on Ukrainian port infrastructure within the Odesa area for weeks, after exiting a deal that allowed protected passage for ships carrying grain from Ukrainian ports.

“On the evening of September 3, 2023, the Russian occupiers launched a number of waves of assaults by ‘Shahed-136/131’ UAVs from the south and southeast,” Ukraine’s Air Pressure wrote on Telegram.

Twenty-five of the Iranian-made assault drones had been launched and “22 of them have been destroyed by the forces and technique of the Air Pressure in cooperation with the air defence of different parts of the Defence Forces of Ukraine,” it mentioned.

However Ukrainian prosecutors mentioned a number of the drones hit the Danube space, saying that not less than two individuals have been wounded.
