A Deception Targeting The Remnant Church Of The Last Days

Many people are not aware that, apart from the mark of the Beast, another thing to avoid in these last days is the number of the name of the beast. Everybody knows that the number of the name of the beast is 666. But what does it really mean? What does it mean to say someone has the number of the name of the beast? How does one “get” the number of the name of the beast? If having the mark of the beast will enable a person to buy and sell during the reign of the beast (guaranteeing their eternal doom) be aware that having the number of the name of the beast will also enable a person to buy and sell during the reign of the beast and equally guarantee their eternal damnation. The two are options: and it means you can buy and sell during the reign of the beast even if you do not have the mark of the beast — as long as you have the number of the name of the beast. The importance of this teaching is to amplify this little-known fact to readers and help them know what the number of the name of the beast really is (apart from its 666 symbol) so they can avoid it with as much alacrity as they would avoid the mark of the beast, for the two are equally dangerous and will guarantee a person entrance into the lake of fire, as well as participation in the punishment of the seven last plagues if they are alive when probation ends for humanity.

Revelation 13:17

“And that no man might buy or sell, except he that had the mark,

Or the name of the beast,

OR THE NUMBER OF HIS NAME.”

As we all know, the word, “or”, in the English language, only exists to introduce an option. So, in Revelation 13:17, there are three options for appeasing the beast and gaining permission to buy and sell. Each of these is as dangerous as the other and equivalent to worshipping the beast.

Revelation 13:8

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him. . . “

How?

By having either:

Option 1: The mark of the beast.

Option 2: The name of the beast.

Option 3: The number of the name of the beast.

Unlike the mark of the beast and the number of the name of the beast, the real meaning of the name of the beast is easy to decode. It is right there in Revelation 13, which describes the beast.

Revelation 13:1

“And upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”

The name of the beast is the name of blasphemy.

But this blasphemy cannot be worse than the blasphemy that guarantees a person eternal doom — whether that blasphemy is committed during the last days or during normal times. It is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which Jesus Christ promised will never be forgiven in this world or in the world to come. If you blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, you must be destroyed in the lake of fire that burns with brimstone. Period.

Matthew 12:31, 32.

“But the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men . . . neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”

The good news is that there is no particular sin that the Bible designates as “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.” So do not be afraid because of the very evil thing you once did, thinking you have somehow sinned against the Holy Spirit. Please understand this: the primary role of the Holy Spirit in the gospel transaction is to convict human beings that they are sinners; John 16:8, KJV, margin.

John 6:44

“No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him . . .”

This drawing is effected by the Holy Spirit.

And being convicted of sin is the only means of receiving God’s forgiveness. In fact, only sinners will inherit the kingdom of God because all human beings have sinned. The only difference is this very issue: some sinners accept the verdict of God and agree that they are sinners (and logically repent, seek forgiveness and turn from their wicked ways) while others do not agree and try to outsmart themselves. They resist the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It is the process of resisting the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit that eventually results in blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Due to the fact that they did not welcome the implication of recognizing Jesus Christ as the Messiah and the Son of God, the Pharisees (in Matthew 12:22-25) lied against the Holy Spirit (in spite of the conviction of the Holy Spirit) by claiming that the work of Jesus Christ in casting out devils was sponsored by the devil himself. They knew what they were doing and it is such defiant rejection of the convicting power of the Holy Spirit that made them guilty of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit or so close to that sin that it elicited that solemn warning from the lips of Christ about the soul-damning consequence of sinning against the Holy Spirit. Except they repented before actually getting to that point, they must end up in the lake of fire.

A time comes when the voice of God becomes inaudible. If you have never heard it before, here it now: God can become “weary” of struggling with the human conscience, as He did in Genesis 6:3 before the destruction of Noah’s generation with a worldwide flood.

Genesis 6:3

“And the LORD said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man.”

If you continue to reject God’s Spirit, He will one day leave you alone forever. It is when God gets to this point of “weariness” in trying to convict a sinner (through His Spirit) that that person crosses into damnation even while still alive because their eternal destiny becomes sealed. They must go to hell because they will not repent. They will not repent because they can no longer repent. They can no longer repent because God has become “weary” of them and cannot convict them anymore. This is what shuts them away from the grace of forgiveness. And this is how a person can sin against the Holy Spirit or blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. It is a situational sin, caused by consistent rejection of the voice of mercy.

Every human being old enough to know good and evil who resists the voice of the Holy Spirit long enough will eventually die in their sins, only to be resurrected to face the second death. But if they are alive during the mark of the beast crisis, they will be adjudged to have acquired the name of the beast, which is the name of blasphemy and specifically the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Such a person is already on their way to hell fire even while alive because they have gone beyond the point of no return. Since there is no way for human beings to know this point, there is no need to consider that anyone you know or have heard about – no matter how sinful they may be – have sinned against the Holy Spirit and gone beyond this point of no return. Because the gospel must go to every creature in the last days before the end of the world, those who reject the gospel must have to have blasphemed against the Holy Spirit in the process of their rejection. They may not know when they crossed that red line but they do. And God’s vengeance against them for rejecting the truth is to bless them with absolute stupidity that makes them believe a lie. It is a terrible situation and it is described as a strong delusion.

2 Thessalonians 2:11, 10

“11. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. 10. Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”

Considering the fact that the main deception of the last days is the deception of the Antichrist, which sets up the mark of the beast and demands global worship, these people will be deluded to believe the lie of the beast and worship him. In their case, they would do this simply by having the name of the beast – or consistently resisting the convicting voice of the Holy Spirit until they blaspheme against the Holy Spirit and become irredeemable.

For Christians, this delusion is what matures into the hypothetical judgment scene recorded in Matthew 7:21-23. If I were you, I would read that passage. It happens because of rejection of further light from the point of repentance. When a person begins the journey of faith but refuses to accept additional light, their journey stops right at that point of rejecting further light. This is because, according to the Bible, the path of the just is the like the light of dawn that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. Proverbs 4:18. A biblical example of this principle is the fact that multitudes initially came to Jesus Christ during His ministry. But, after He began to tell them some things about the truth of the gospel, many of them withdrew. Not a few; but many. Even the disciples were tempted to abandon Him and apparently would have done so, but for the fact that they knew that, bitter though His words were, they were the truth.

John 6:66-69

[66]From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. [67]Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? [68]Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. [69]And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

For example, some readers of this series (which is ending with this Part 7B) were not aware of the fact that the Roman Catholic Church was the institution of the Antichrist and that its central doctrine of the Trinity is the doctrine of Satan. If, after knowing this, a person decides (because of fear of persecution, marginalization, or lose of certain advantages) to continue in their ignorance, their initial ignorance becomes transformed into willful ignorance, which is not innocent. And, for this, they will be punished with an inability to understand further truth, forcing them to honestly, sincerely, and heartily believe the next lie they are told and all the other lies that follow. This is how the calamity of the Christians in Matthew 7:21-23 would occur.

In practical terms, the situation of every class of human beings on the earth old enough to sin will be as explained below. I say old enough to sin because some human beings (children) are not old enough to sin because they are unable to discern between right and wrong and are thus not responsible for their decisions. No need to delve into this issue for now but the point should be noted that it is the soul that sinneth that shall die, according to the Bible in Ezekiel 18:4. If you just think about it a bit, you will realize that children cannot sin because sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4). This means that knowledge is a precondition for sin to be imputed. Sin cannot be imputed on children because they lack knowledge of good and evil and the Bible says “to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” Moreover, check out this evidence that the Bible recognizes that, before a certain time in the life of a child, they are unable to discern between evil and good. This completely settles the matter and proves that, when the Bible talks about “all have sinned” and “the soul that sinneth, it shalt die” children at a certain level of development are exempted. The catch here is that only God can tell when a child crosses that level of innocence and becomes responsible for their decisions.

Isaiah 7:16

“For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.”

Above is biblical evidence that, in the life of a typical child, there is a season when the child cannot sin because they do not “know to refuse the evil and choose the good.”

However, for every other class of human beings, here is the reality.

Titus 2:11-12

[11]For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, [12]Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

This means what it says. Whether you understand it or not, God finds a way to communicate His grace to every human being. That grace teaches the heart of men to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world. According to this scripture, your location, your background, the faith of your parents, your educational status, or gender, or wealth, or worldview, is immaterial: the grace of God must appear unto you in one form or the other and attempt to draw you to repentance so that you will be saved. It is sufficient resistance to this grace that results in the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (even in normal times) and qualifies a person for the lake of fire. If this resistance takes place during the last days, the person gets rewarded with the name of the beast. Note that, on the basis of Revelation 13:17, such persons will be able to buy and sell even when the beast begins to reign (because of their possession of the name of the beast through blasphemy against the Holy Spirit) and this must equate to the worship of the beast because of Revelation 13:8 that states that, apart from those whose names are written in the Book of Life of the Lamb, every other person on earth will worship the beast.

In summary, anyone who gets the name of the beast in the last days does so through the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which is tantamount to consistent rejection of the voice of the Holy Spirit. Logic dictates that every person who is damned in the last days must have had the name of the beast to qualify for their damnation because there is no way to be damned without resisting the grace of God through the voice of the Holy Spirit, and according to Titus 2:11-12, the grace of God appears unto “all men.” So nobody is exempted from the grace itself and the consequences of rejecting that grace.

However, there will be no need for everyone to receive the mark of the beast; neither would there be need for everyone to receive the number of the name of the beast. According to Revelation 13:17, anyone who has the name of the beast will be able to buy and sell during the reign of the beast, even if they do not have the mark of the beast or the number of the name of the beast. I did not say so: it is the Bible that presents the three options, namely, the mark of the beast, the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Having explained how the name of the beast is acquired, how does one receive the mark of the beast or the number of the name of the beast, which are all options for securing permission from the beast power to buy and sell, according to Revelation 13:17?

You cannot understand what the mark of the beast is just by reading Revelation 13 thirteen times — or even fourteen times! You must understand what the seal of God is from other portions of the Bible and then compare with the seal (mark) of the beast, to understand this mystery. But here is a summary, for those who are interested in understanding.

A typical seal contains three things – a name, a title, and a jurisdiction. For example, Abraham Lincoln, President, United States of America; or Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria. In the case of Obasanjo, his name is Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, his title is President, and his jurisdiction is the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Are you aware that God has a seal within the Ten Commandments that identifies Him as the giver of those commandments? Without that seal, we cannot be sure which God we are paying allegiance to while obeying the Ten Commandments. No wonder Satan has deceived Christians about the seal of God within His commandments.

Where is the seal of God in the Ten Commandments?

Exodus 20:8-11

[8]Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. [9]Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: [10]But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: [11]For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Now let us see if this commandment contains the three elements of a typical seal.

Name: The LORD

Title: Creator (For in six days, the LORD made heaven and earth, etc.)

Jurisdiction: Heaven, earth, the sea, and all that in them is.

The Sabbath Commandment has the three elements of a seal.

Thus, the seal of God is the Sabbath commandment.

Ezekiel 20:12

[12]Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

Interestingly, the word translated “sign” in Ezekiel 20:12 quoted above is the Hebrew word “Oth” (H226 on Strong’s Concordance). Well guess what? It is translated as “mark” in other places of the Bible. The Sabbath is the mark of God. The mark of God cannot be the same as the mark of the beast. In fact, the mark of the beast must stand in opposition to the mark of God, which is the Sabbath. Remember when God cursed Cain after Cain killed Abel? The Bible said God set a mark upon Cain so that he will not be killed by anyone who found him. Genesis 4:15. It was H226 that was translated as “mark” in “And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.” Since this same H226 was used in Ezekiel 20:12, we have conclusive proof that what God said there was that the Sabbath commandment is His mark. Again, it cannot be the same with the mark of the beast.

But this thing has been made easier for us because of Daniel 7:25, which prophesied that the little horn will change the law of God that has to do with time. This is the same little horn described as the beast in Daniel 7 and the first of two beasts in Revelation 13; the man of sin and son of perdition in 2 Thessalonians 2:4, and the Antichrist in the First and Second Epistles of John, and Mystery, Babylon the Great, in Revelation 17:5, which also refers to that power as the harlot woman.

Daniel 7:25

“And he shall think to change times and laws.”

In previous parts in this series, we have identified the little horn as the Roman Catholic Church. It is called “little” even while credited with ruling the world and we find the fulfilment of that prophecy in the fact that Vatican City, from which the Pope reigns, is the smallest country in the world.

Revelation 17:18

“And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”

Recall that its identifying mark is the seven mountains on which it seats. And Vatican City is within Rome, which has been known since ancient times as a city on seven hills because it is, indeed, a city on seven hills.

If the Roman Catholic Church is the beast of Revelation 13, the mark of its authority must be the mark of the beast. But does the RCC have any mark?

“Sunday is our mark of authority …. The church is above the Bible, and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that fact” (The Catholic Record of London, Ontario, Sept. 1, 1923).

Do you think the quotation above was fabricated against the Roman Catholic Church, or do you believe it is a genuine quotation? If it is a genuine quotation, what excuse are you planning to give to God for continuing to keep Sunday holy or for continuing to desecrate the Sabbath commandment every single week of your existence on earth? You think Daniel 7:25 is a joke, or do you credit me with making that prophecy? Why not humbly ask your leader to explain to you whether or not Daniel 7:25 has been fulfilled and whether there is a prophecy that the Commandments of God will be tampered with by the beast power?

So the evidence is clear: while God identifies the Sabbath commandment as His sign (His mark, His seal) and the Sabbath commandment does contain the three elements of a typical seal, Sunday has been claimed by the Roman Catholic Church as a mark of her authority and there is no longer room to hide behind the excuse of ignorance on this matter. Sunday-reverence is worshipping the beast and those who do this when the beast begins to reign and requires this reverence in exchange for the right to buy and sell will receive the mark of the beast and be doomed forever.

How about the number of the name of the beast?

What is true of the mark of the beast is also true of the number of the name of the beast. But even if you read Revelation 13 eighteen times, although you will see the number of the name of the beast stated in verse 18 as the number, 666, you cannot understand what it really means unless you visit other portions of the Bible, using the key of Revelation 21:17, which was revealed to me and which ultimately helped me understand that the number of the name of the beast, 666, is an emblematic representation of the doctrine of the Trinity. This was fully explained in earlier articles (available on request) such as Blessed By A Critic, Parts 1 and 2, and How Sabbath Keepers Will Worship The Beast. Evidence that the number 666 is an emblematic representation of the doctrine of the Trinity was also provided in Part 6B of this series, also available on request for those who may not have read it.

To underscore how dangerous the number of the name of the beast is (which most people do not fully understand) and the fact that it is as dangerous as the mark of the beast (which most people have heard about) note that the Bible states that the victory of last day saints must include victory, not just over the mark of the beast, but over the number of his name.

Revelation 15:2

“And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and

OVER THE NUMBER OF HIS NAME,

stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.”

If, for any reason or group of reasons you receive the number of the name of the beast, you will be unable to join the saints on the sea of glass for, as shown in Revelation 15:2, they gained victory over the number of the name of the beast.

Daniel 12:10

“None of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”

The Summary Of Possibilities

Everyone who worships the beast must at least have the name of the beast since this has to do with resisting the Holy Spirit, which is the key facilitator of the everlasting gospel the Bible says in Revelation 14:6 will be preached to everyone on earth, echoing the declaration already made in Titus 2:11-12. But, in addition to this, it is religious people that are most likely to also have the mark of the beast because of Sunday sacredness, even though the Muslim world and the rest of the world is already being prepped to honour Sunday. Furthermore, when it comes to the issue of the number of the name of the beast (acquired through upholding the doctrine of the Trinity) while majority of Sunday worshippers are likely to have this number because they believe in the Trinity, it is the only thing that seems capable of damning members of the remnant church (that is, the Seventh-day Adventist Church), who simply know too much to be deceived into receiving the mark of the beast. There are two reasons for this. As already proven in Part 7A, the original fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church restored true apostolic Christianity to the world. It contained a belief in the only true God and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and totally repudiated the doctrine of the Trinity. But the Seventh-day Adventist Church has now returned to believing the doctrine of the Trinity. According to official SDA Church publications, it was Ellen Gould White that was instrumental in this. But virtually all Seventh-day Adventists still believe in the Sabbath. So it will be very difficult for any Adventist to receive the mark of the beast, which has something to do with Sunday sacredness and/or Sabbath desecration. The first reason why Adventists will be susceptible to receiving the number of the name of the beast is that most of them still believe the doctrine of the Trinity, which is an emblematic representation of the number of the name of the beast, 666. Thus, except they abandon this belief as the second angel’s message is being repeated through messages like this, they would end up having the number of the name of the beast and be able to buy and sell when the beast begins to reign.

The second reason why they are susceptible to having the number of the name of the beast is because this issue of the number of the name of the beast being an option in appeasing the beast (apart from receiving the mark of the beast) has not been sufficiently emphasized to Adventists. Thus, when the average Adventist thinks about the end times, his mind is restricted to the issue of the mark of the beast. This is because nobody has ever taught Adventists that, apart from the mark of the beast, one would be able to buy and sell under the reign of the beast if that person has the number of the name of the beast. Moreover, nobody has ever taught Adventists that the number of the name of the beast, 666, is an emblematic representation of the doctrine of the Trinity. The single individual that brought this disadvantage on Seventh0day Adventists (in spite of the fact that their pioneers had the complete truth) is the prophetess of the church, Ellen Gould White, who was identified by divine providence as a secret enemy of the saints through her curious 666 name number and the fact that, in her ministry, she fulfilled the sign of 1 Timothy 4:1-3 by commanding abstinence from certain foods, including flesh foods.

When the Bible says Satan deceiveth the whole world, it envisaged the ministry of Ellen Gould White, which was specifically packaged to deceive the remnant church, even after that church had been blessed with the complete truth of New Testament Christianity, as captured in the original 27 Fundamental Beliefs.
