Peshawar: The KP government’s effective deployment of the GIS-based Centralized Urban Immovable Property Tax Management and Information System (CUIPTMIS) has significantly enhanced tax collection and the effective use of public resources. This solution makes the structure for property taxes visible, automated, and robust.

The newly implemented Management and Information System (MIS), which was completed at a cost of Rs95.898 million, is being used initially in the districts of Abbottabad and Nowshera, with plans to expand its use throughout the province in the future.

The identification of 50,938 new property units has resulted in a significant increase in tax income in these districts; demand has gone from Rs69 million to Rs123 million in Nowshera and from Rs83 million to Rs 143 million in Abbottabad.

The chief minister thanked the Excise and Taxation department for this noteworthy project during the inauguration, emphasizing its dual goals of improving tax collection efficiency and improving taxpayers’ lives through an integrated online system and grievance redress mechanism.

He underlined how adding more property units to the valuation list will likely result in higher revenue. He added that the effective UIP Tax Management and Information System eliminates previous challenges related to tax payment procedures by enabling people to conveniently remit taxes using online platforms from the comfort of their homes.
