The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has declared that it has retrieved 750 kanals of its land in Sector I-12/1, 2 and 3 during the past week as part of an operation against land grabbers in Islamabad.
Captain (r) Anwar ul Haq, the Chairman of the CDA, has issued an order to suppress encroachments in the federal capital.
An official who shared information about the operation said that the CDA’s Enforcement Directorate, working with many other departments, started taking action against an unlicensed Afghan encampment near NUST, Sector I-12.

Several rooms and animal enclosures were destroyed during the process using heavy machinery. During the operation, 750 kanals of land were recovered; these would be put to use for different purposes.
Other areas of Islamabad, such as Simly Dam Road, Karnal Sher Khan Avenue, Mandi Mor, Margalla Town Phase-2, and Murree Road, were also the sites of the anti-encroachment operation. Authorities cleaned public walkways on both sides of the highways.
On top of that, some 14 trucks carrying products that were confiscated were also taken into custody by CDA officials. Furthermore, Building Control North delivered notices for code violations to several buildings on Pothohar Avenue in University Town.
