The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has finished looking into the events at Punjab University Town-III.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the vice chancellor of the university have both received advice from the bureau on how to proceed with plot transfers to legal allottees.

The complaints against Mian Javed, the owner and developer of Punjab University Town-III (Jamiat Town), Raiwind Road Lahore, and other individuals were being investigated at the bureau, according to a letter the NAB sent to the LDA and the PU VC.

According to the letter, the in question housing concept has been combined with M/s Marwa Developers’ Soul City project.

Aside from the handover of the original housing scheme’s land totaling 940 kanal in Mauza Jia Bagga to M/s Marwa Developers, the PU Town-III allotees have been housed in Soul City without incurring any further fees.

The responsible authority has decided to cease the NAB’s investigation into the case after careful thought and a comprehensive investigation.

Although the NAB’s investigation is over, the bureau has requested the Director-General of LDA to take the proper action in accordance with the applicable legal rules.

The goal is to protect the interests of the allottees by ensuring that development is finished on schedule and that plots are delivered to the rightful receivers.

Additionally, the NAB has instructed the PU VC to take the proper steps, keep track of progress, and work with the LDA to ensure the timely completion of development and plot delivery.

The management committee’s chairman, Prof. Fakhrul Haq Noori, and PU-ASA president, Prof. Muhammad Azhar Naeem, are both optimistic about the project’s progress.

They also thought that this development would hasten the community’s long-awaited rights.

Notably, the management committee is being questioned for starting the project without receiving permission from the PU Syndicate.

Given that no NoC from the LDA and other pertinent authorities had been obtained when the proposal was first introduced back in 2016, it is important to notice the charges that the land purchased in the names of the committee members was unlawful.
