LDA Removes Illegal Constructions in Key Areas

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified efforts to address the problem of unauthorized structures and illicit commercial activity in significant sections of the city.

The operations have begun in places like Ferozepur Road, Avenue One, and Jubilee Town under the direction of Commissioner and LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

The LDA teams have taken action, including dismantling and sealing numerous illegal constructions, in accordance with the city’s commitment to urban planning and development standards.

With these operations, unauthorised changes, encroachments, and illegal commercialization are intended to be corrected.

Director Town Planning VII, Syed Ali Abbas, was in charge of carrying out the operation under the direction of Additional DG Housing, retired Capt. Shahmeer Iqbal.

Additionally, unapproved alterations were taken out of Plot No. 622/5 D1 and Plot No. 283/2 B2, where illegal buildings were immediately taken down.

The results of unauthorised adjustments also affected Plot No. 255/2B One, and Plot No. 55/17 B1 was sealed as a result of encroachment.

Additionally, a shutter on Kacha Jail Road that was contributing to encroachment difficulties was taken down.

Unauthorised building projects that were ongoing near the Kacha Jail Road Flyover, including an unauthorised basement, were promptly demolished.

Similar outcomes occurred to illicit businesses that were located close to Hammonat Factory on Ferozepur Road when their shutters were taken down.

In addition, structures built along Ferozepur Road close to the Pak Arab Society without the necessary permission were also razed.

LDA staff sealed more than twenty properties in these regions in an effort to get rid of unlicensed commercial buildings.

Plots No. 19 Block H and No. 44 Block H in Avenue One were also sealed as a result of the operations.

Plot No. 757 Block B, Plot No. 627 Block A, and several more properties in Jubilee Town experienced the same consequence.

The specifics indicate that repeated notices were given to the impacted properties before the activities started, assuring that due process was followed.

The spokeswoman stated that the citywide campaign on illegal construction and commercial activity would continue.
