On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, the ceremonial opening took place at the Aga Khan University Hospital Contact Centre. The interim CEO of AKUH Health Services in Pakistan, Dr. Farhat Abbas, expressed his deep happiness with this effort and emphasised how it has the potential to revolutionise how people interact with hospitals and obtain any information they require.
Along with quality, relevance, and impact, Dr. Abbas emphasized the importance of accessibility as one of the Aga Khan University Hospital’s four guiding principles. He claimed that the Hospital has ushered in a new era of accessibility and ease with the launch of WhatsApp. “At the same time, we demonstrate our commitment to geographical accessibility with our presence in over 130 cities across Pakistan,” he said.
Dr. Abbas also emphasized how the hospital’s substantial patient welfare scheme demonstrates its commitment to financial accessibility. The hospital’s constant dedication to ensuring that healthcare services are available to all, regardless of their ability to pay, was demonstrated by the program’s provision of help of Rs. 433 crores to more than 1.1 million people just last year.
