Upcoming Smartphone 2023: Apple iPhone 15 and Google Pixel 8 Phones

Table of Contents

This year, several new smartphones have been introduced by companies like Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, and Google. The upcoming fall season is still going to offer much more to look forward to.

While it’s difficult to foresee everything that will occur in the phone industry, we may make some reasonable assumptions because many businesses tend to follow a similar pattern each year. For instance, the arrival of the Apple iPhone 15 range is scheduled for September. It may possibly feature USB-C charging this time around, which would be a first for iPhones. There are rumors that Google will unveil the Pixel 8 in the fall, maybe with a brand-new Tensor processor.

The slow but significant advancements that phones have been making since 2022 would be maintained by these launches. For example, the iPhone 14 now has emergency satellite communication and crash detection capabilities. Google continued to develop new applications for its unique Tensor chip included in the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. The Samsung Galaxy S23 from Samsung this year is a minor improvement over last year’s Galaxy S series, which saw a new design and improved camera.

So, here’s an exclusive look at the new phones we’re looking forward to in the fall. These predictions are based on historical launch patterns as well as rumors and stories that have been circulating.

Apple iPhone 15 lineup

This year, Apple will continue to release new iPhones in September, as usual. The changeover to USB-C charging for future iPhones is one exhilarating shift we anticipate. The European Union has mandated that by 2024, all new phones sold there must support USB-C charging, making this changeover crucial. Apple consented to abide by this regulation, but it’s unclear if the change will take effect in 2023 or whether it will only apply to devices sold in Europe.

As predicted by Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants and Bloomberg, we might see something called the Dynamic Island on the regular iPhone 15. Additionally, a process known as low-injection pressure over-molding may be used to make the display borders of the iPhone 15 Pro thinner.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max might get a better optical zoom periscope camera as part of the camera enhancements. Additionally, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo speculated that both Pro versions would include solid-state buttons. In his opinion, the Pro Max may contain additional capabilities that would make it stand out from the iPhone 15 Pro, which is smaller.

Why This Is Exciting: For iPhone users, the switch to USB-C is a major thing. It makes life more convenient because one charging cable may be used for Macs, iPads, and iPhones. The possibility that the Pro Max version will have distinctive capabilities that maximize its larger screen, akin to what the iPad offers, is another intriguing aspect.

OnePlus foldable phone

Know what’s coming? The first foldable phone from OnePlus will go on sale in the latter half of 2023. They revealed this to us at an occasion they held in February at Mobile World Congress. We don’t currently know a lot about it. The specifications of the phone, the precise release date, and the price have all been kept secret by OnePlus.

However, there have been a few cunning leaks that let us know what to anticipate. Steve Hemmerstoffer (also known as OnLeaks), who is renowned for divulging information about future products, leaked some information to the blog MySmartPrice. This information indicates that OnePlus’ foldable phone will feature a 7.8-inch screen when it is opened. That’s even larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s screen. And what’s this? There will be three camera lenses on the phone.

One lens will take pictures that are 48-megapixels, and there’s another one like that but extra wide. The third lens is going to be super powerful with 64-megapixels, and it will let you zoom in really close. And here’s more: the phone will work really fast thanks to a special brain inside called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Why is everyone excited? Well, OnePlus is renowned for producing goods at prices lower than those of Samsung and Apple. We can only hope that their folding phone won’t be as expensive as the $1,800 Galaxy Z Fold 5. They also have a sister company named Oppo, and the Oppo Find N2 folding phone is incredibly stylish and portable. It will be fantastic if OnePlus imitates their sister. Not to mention that the fact that many companies are producing foldable phones means Samsung will need to work harder to maintain its lead.

Google Pixel 8

The upcoming Pixel 8 family, which is anticipated to release later this year, is getting a lot of anticipation. According to leaker Kuba Wojciechowski, who spilled the beans to the blog 91mobiles, one intriguing alteration would be the addition of a temperature sensor to the Pro model.

German tech blog WinFuture recently combed through publicly accessible code and discovered hints regarding two upcoming Pixel phones. These gadgets, dubbed “Shiba” and “Husky,” are planned to function on a brand-new CPU called “Zuma.” Additionally, a substantial 12GB of RAM and Android 14 as the operating system are hinted at in the scoop.

Along with MySmartPrice and SmartPrix, leak specialist Steve Hemmerstoffer published renderings of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. When compared to the Pixel 7 series, these photographs show a similar design with softer edges.

Another leaker, Yogesh Brar, hinted that the Pixel 8 would have a quick 50-megapixel primary camera, a flexible 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a brand-new Google Tensor chip called the G3. If these rumors are accurate, the Pixel 8 might arrive in early October with a fair $649 price tag.

What excites me? Well, I’m particularly interested to see what new capabilities Google’s next chip will offer to their phones. Cool capabilities like Magic Eraser and Face Unblur for improved images, as well as speaker labeling in the Recorder app, have already been introduced by the current Tensor chips. I’m interested to see where Google goes from here. I’m also intrigued by the notion of a temperature sensor in the Pro model. I’m curious what beneficial uses and features Google has in mind for it.
