Switched telephone services cannot be offered by PM WANI Wi-Fi framework participants. The Central Registry, Captive Portal, App Provider’s App, and Wi-Fi Access Point all need to adhere to the WANI Framework’s architectural guidelines. A WANI-compliant WAP can be used by any consumer who has been verified by an App Provider to access the Internet.

Any disagreement regarding the provision of services is solely between the harmed party and the App Provider, Pdoa, or both. Before starting the service, they must give everyone the proper notice. The Department of Transportation will not be held liable in any way for this. Hence, the App Provider and PDOA are required to keep the DoT indemnified against any claims, expenses, fees or losses. The PDOA, Central Registry Provider, and App Provider are all subject to any and all terms and restrictions set forth from time to time by the DoT.

All workers of the App Provider, PDOA, and Central Registry are accountable for breaking the terms and conditions. The accuracy of the provided information is the responsibility of the Central Registry, PDOA, and App Provider. The PDOAs must use every means possible to introduce technology created and developed in India. Also, in order to offer broadband internet services under the WANI framework, businesses must deploy the Made in India Wifi Hotspot Access Point equipment. Any breach of the terms and conditions may result in appropriate action being taken by the DoT, including cancellation of Registration.

The Terms and Conditions

A PDO may be any entity. Public Data Officers are not required to register with the DoT. In agreement with a PDOA, a PDO can set up a WiFi infrastructure that complies with WANI. A Public Data Office Aggregator may be any business registered under the Companies Act of 2013. A PDOA must adhere to the relevant FDI regulations for the telecommunications industry. There is no registration cost required to register a PDOA with the DoT.

An App Provider may be any business that has a Companies Act of 2013 registration. The App Provider is required to follow the relevant FDI regulations for the telecommunications industry. There is no registration cost required to register an app provider with the DoT.

Simplified Process of Application

The applicant company may use the Simplified Application for Registration and Licenses Portal to submit an application for registration with the DoT for PDOA or App Provider registration. During registration, the applying firm must supply the Corporate Identity Number (CIN). The applying company must upload a self-certified document of Company Registration issued by the Registrar of Companies until the Simplified Application for Registration and Licenses Portal is merged with the master database kept by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (RoC).

During seven working days, DoT will give PDOAs and app providers registration. After seven working days, an automatic generation of the registration certificate will occur. Permission for pan-India activities must be granted by the PDOA and App Provider registration. A PDOA may cancel the registration by providing the DoT with 60 days’ notice and the linked PDOs with 30 days’ notice. The terms of applicable and pertinent laws will govern the registration.

The PDOA must regularly submit the requested paperwork to the DoT and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in order to make data available for WANI. The DoT maintains the right to interrupt the WAP operation at any moment if it is necessary or reasonable to do so in the interest of the security of the State.
