Polycor Quarry in France Goes Green
OBERLIN, Ohio – The National Stone Sustainability Standard – ANSI/NSI 373 – is now making its mark in Europe.
Quarry Location
The limestone Polycor Quarry is located in Massangis, France and it currently grasped a new achievement in the third place as it shows some adherence to the green standard for natural-stone production.
By getting the first certification outside North America, it shows that this quarry deserved to be classed the leader in enlarging the standard worldwide.
Ralph Morgan, Polycor’s director of environment and sustainability, notes that Natural Stone is a sustainable material and deserves recognition for its sustainable quarrying and manufacturing processes. This certification is the 12th for Polycor under the ANSI/NSI standard.
The first sign of publishing the Natural Stone Sustainability Standard occurred in 2014 and currently came under the ownership of the Natural Stone Institute.
Moreover, regarding the mentioned situation, the standard within the design community somehow will be learnt.
The standard’s metrics, including human health and safety, social governance, and environmental responsibility, are verified by third-party organization NSF International.
The standard defines best practices for land reclamation, adaptive reuse, and waste management, ensuring that natural stone companies are responsible stewards of the land. Natural stone is a solution for green building goals, and this certification helps position it.
