Although overall rainfall activity is likely to be normal to above normal, heavy rain is expected in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, and Sikkim on Sunday and Monday.

Delayed Monsoon in Delhi

The monsoon arrival in Delhi is projected to be delayed by approximately 5-6 days due to the delayed onset in Kerala. The national capital may witness light rain and cloudy conditions, accompanied by strong winds starting from Saturday onwards. The IMD predicts partly cloudy skies in Delhi for the next 6-7 days, with rain expected thereafter.

Weather Forecast for West Bengal

With the monsoon expected to arrive in the northeast, favourable conditions for its entry into West Bengal are anticipated by Sunday. Thunderstorms are forecasted for Sunday and Monday in coastal districts, including Kolkata, Howrah, and Hooghly. A heatwave warning is in effect for all sections except Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas, and East Midnapore until Saturday. Subsequently, the heatwave conditions will shift to Purulia, Bankura, and East and West Burdwan.
