El Camino Inn Makes a Comeback

It’s finally happening. After maybe the longest pandemic hiatus in the city, the taco eatery El Camino Inn shared on Instagram that it will reopen its doors at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12. Woodhouse Vegan Departing Italian Village

Woodhouse Vegan is bidding adieu to Italian Village. Later this month, the plant-based café plans to depart its original brick-and-mortar at 851 N. Fourth St. and relocate operations to its bakery space at 19 W. Russell St. in the Short North. Its last day in Italian Village will be Oct. 21. According to an announcement on Instagram, the move will allow Woodhouse Vegan to expand its “menu, hours and community outreach.”

Bada Boom!

The coffee shop-meets-cocktail bar Bada Bean Bada Booze expanded to two locations last week with the addition of 527 W. Fifth Ave. in Harrison West. The café-and-bar concept was created by the developer Thrive Cos. as an amenity for its properties. The original Bada Bean Bada Booze opened late last year as part of the Jeffrey Park community in Italian Village, and Thrive Cos. is planning two more storefronts in Grandview and Marble Cliff.

Buzz Kill

It’s the end of the road for Whitehall’s Buzzsaw Brewing Co. Co-founder Quinn Bartlett announced in a video on Instagram that the brewery and taproom will close permanently at the end of November. The small brewery, which is located at 951 Robinwood Ave., made its debut in February 2021. Bartlett says Buzzsaw will maintain its regular hours for now.

Fyr Short North turns 1 year old this week. Executive chef Sebastian LaRocca will host a four-course anniversary dinner on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Hilton Columbus Downtown restaurant at 404 N. High St. Reservations are available now for the $70 prix fixe dinner.

More KFC on Bethel Road

The Korean fried chicken chain BB.Q Chicken is poised to open its second Central Ohio storefront on Monday, Oct. 16, at 878 Bethel Road. BB.Q Chicken, which was founded in Korea in 1995, is opening next door to the newly opened boba shop Tiger Sugar on Bethel.
