Tyrell Hatton had a good finish to the FedEx Cup, and his game should be fine-tuned for the Irish Open.

The 31-year-old finished T16 in the TOUR Championship behind Viktor Hovland, and it’s good to see him tee it up in Ireland, which is being used as a Ryder Cup preparation for most.

Rory McIlroy is the favourite, and rightfully so, but Hatton presents punters with better value at $11. He’s on the second line of golf betting markets for a reason, and he should be respected.

He’s also a six-time European Tour winner, including two Alfred Dunhill Links Championships, which is a similar tournament to the Irish Open.

Hatton might have a temper on the course, but he has been an excellent bet for many years.

Irish Open Best Value – Adrian Meronk

We fancied the chances of Adrian Meronk last week at the Omega European Masters, and although he didn’t win, he wasn’t far away.

The Polish player finished T13 with a score of –13, which was only six strokes behind the winner. That was a tidy performance, and it wouldn’t have dented his confidence in the slightest.

The 30-year-old, who studied at East Tennessee University, has made a home for himself on the DP World Tour as a three-time winner.

He won the 2022 Irish Open, so he’s the defending champion, and that holds plenty of weight. He defeated New Zealand’s Ryan Fox by three strokes, so he’s out to win again.

Irish Open First-Round Leader – Ryan Fox

Speaking of Fox, we think the Kiwi could get off to a hot start at the Irish Open.

He played well to finish second last year, and although he hasn’t been playing much recently, he has the talent to get off to a hot start.

His opening rounds are usually when he plays his best, so the big-hitting Kiwi could fire a –7 or –8 score and go to sleep on Thursday night as the clubhouse leader.

Punters get fantastic odds of $46, so he’s worth entertaining.

Irish Open Top 10 – Min Woo Lee

There has been good betting support for Min Woo Lee, and the Australian has played well in Europe throughout his career.

He won the 2021 Scottish Open, which is played in similar conditions, and he has played well in recent majors, including finishing T5 at the U.S. Open.

The 25-year-old is still growing in the sport, and we’re happy with the $3.10 for him to finish in the top 10. It’s a tough field, but if he’s anywhere near his best, he should reward punters.

Irish Open Top 20 – Billy Horschel

Billy Horschel has had a disastrous year, for lack of a better term. However, the American found something towards the end of his FedEx Cup campaign.

We have seen many American players lose their ability before making comebacks, including Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler, so the same could happen to Horschel.

It’s good that he’s travelling, so he wants to play well, and the $2.30 is a fair price from bookmakers.
