NBA Free Agency: All the Significant Signings and Details (Live Updates) – Bleacher Nation | Chicago Sports News, Rumors, and Obsession

NBA Free Agency officially opened up at 5:00 p.m. CT tonight (Friday evening). And we’ve already covered a LOAD of significant deals around the league, including a couple Bulls moves (they re-signed Coby White to a three-year Deal and grabbed Jevon Carter out of free agency), plus the following bigger league moves:

But there were many more free-agent deals across the NBA, so we decided to list them out for you with a little context/any available details.

As a reminder, the new NBA salary cap for 2023-2024 (per Adrian Wojnarowski) is $136M. Other key numbers to know: Tax Level ($165.2M), First Apron ($172.3M), and Second Apron ($182.7M).

NBA Free Agency Roundup:

  • Kyrie Irving – shockingly – wasn’t a part of much drama when free agency opened up. Shortly after the 5:00 p.m. CT start time, multiple reports announced that he was set to return to the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $126 million deal. For the Mavericks, they get to keep the player they traded multiple assets for at this past season’s deadline. As for Irving, while he doesn’t get a max deal, he does take home a massive $42 million AAV.
  • A lot of role-player news: Free agent center Drew Eubanks signed a two-year deal with the Phoenix Suns, though the second season is reportedly a player option. Free agent guard Damion Lee did the same thing, a two-year deal with the Suns, including a player option in the second season. Sticking with PHX, they also re-signed guard Josh Okogie and added free agent forward Chimezie Metu (one year deal). For a team with limited spending power after adding Bradley Beal this offseason, they must fill out their bench with a handful of cheap role players.
  • Cam Johnson signed a four-year, $108 million deal to stay with the Nets. Arguably the most coveted restricted free agent on the market, rumors swirled about some teams potentially trying to pry Johnson away. Instead, the Nets keep the young shooter they added in the Kevin Durant trade.
  • Free agent center Jakob Poeltl signed a four-year, $80M deal to stay with the Raptors. Toronto snagged the big man at this previous deadline, suggesting that they would do whatever it takes to re-sign him.
  • The Milwaukee Bucks are keeping three-time All-Star Khris Middleton on a three-year, $102M deal. Despite Middleton opting out earlier this summer to become an unrestricted free agent, the expectation always was that he would seek out a long-term deal to stay in Milwaukee.
  • The Phoenix Suns keep adding with the signing of Yuta Watanabe. Potentially an underrated asset, Watanabe had a breakout year shooting the basketball last season.

We will continue to update this post with the latest free-agent info as it comes out.
