Warwick betting tips

2.45: Him Malaya 7/4

Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden operate at a great strike rate at Warwick together, 38% in total and with this favourite well fancied in the market still.

Pak Army presents a big challenge if up to the same standard as his 21-length victory last time leading from the front, but that horse could have also benefitted from carrying just 9-12 with 7lb claimer on board.

Him Malaya went close in a Class 4 handicap last time out and looks set to go well down in grade off the same mark today for successful owner Mrs Jonny de la Hey who also owns Dolos, Danny Kirwan, Pic D’Orhy and many more.

4.50: Way Out 5/2

Has had a very promising start to his hurdle career from January onwards and there’s clearly hope from his yard there’s more to come.

Especially considering his longshot at Cheltenham’s Novice Grade 2 Hurdle on just his second hurdle run.

Has learnt a lot since then, albeit quickly and without too much rest.

This has indicated this trip is his ideal though and can run well on good ground, as his big win of 15 lengths last time out in a maiden hurdle suggests.

Only raised 1lb for that as that was a maiden hurdle but still should be improving as a six-year-old very much on the up.

Placed a very close fifth in a Class 3 handicap hurdle in April at 18/1 and that form among other races is indicative of more to come too.

Ayr betting tips

3.30: Al Husn 5/6

Roger Varian has a 36% win-rate when sending horses over 359 miles and suggests this long traveller to get to Ayr is well up for the win.

This four-year-old filly was second behind Via Sistina in Newmarket’s Howden Dahlia Stakes and that followed three straight wins in filly races.

Return to 1m2f will suit and after a prominent win in a Class 2 this listed race is well within her realm of justifying a short price.

Southwell betting tips

6.50: Sir Tivo 7/2 (NAP)

Back down to a dangerous mark over fences and likes it at Southwell, winning twice from three runs already.

Return to good ground must also contribute to being a factor to a decent run today and having placed behind Gunsight Ridge back in November offers more 4lb lower.

Returned from a break over hurdles at Ludlow in April and can go well now back over fences where he has seven wins from just 21 attempts.

Gary Hanmer and Sean Bowen team up on this horse again and these two also have a good success rate at Southwell.
