The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in Mumbai on Friday. As of now, light to moderate rain is lashing almost all areas of Mumbai. Due to this, there has been a problem of water logging in many areas. Traffic was moving at slow speed on the Eastern and Western Expressways, but traffic was normal on the Eastern Freeway connecting Chembur to South Mumbai.

Heavy rain will occur in these states for the next two days
According to the Meteorological Department, today an alert of heavy rain has been issued in various states of the country. According to the department, heavy rain is expected on Friday and Saturday in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. The hilly states may receive heavy rains till August 1. Heavy rains are also expected in some areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha in Maharashtra today. Similarly, heavy rains are expected over Coastal and North Karnataka and Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand in the south and Arunachal Pradesh and Assam Meghalaya in the northeast.
