Congress Accuses PM Modi of ‘Erasing’ Tagore’s Legacy
On Monday, the Congress held Prime Minister Narendra Modi responsible for the removal of Rabindranath Tagore’s name from recently erected plaques at Visva-Bharati University in West Bengal. The Congress claimed that Modi was seeking the “erasure” of the late poet, just as he had done with Jawahar Lal Nehru. The plaques honor PM Modi as “Acharya,” but they exclude the name of the university’s founder, Tagore.
Congress responded to the dispute by labelling PM Modi the “chief peddler of fear, hate, and division” and implying that he was insane.
Famously, Rabindranath Tagore declared, “My Motherland, I claim freedom from fear for you.” The main propagandist of hatred, fear, and division today has completely ignored Tagore and dubbed himself “Acharya” at the illustrious Shantiniketan! “Illusion has no boundaries,” he posted on X
