Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has reiterated his stance of not seeking any position within the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.), an opposition coalition. Speaking alongside his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav, in Patna, Kumar emphasized his goal of uniting various parties rather than pursuing personal ambitions.

“I’m not looking to change into anything. I really do not want it,” Kumar remarked.When asked about a potential role as the convener in the India Alliance, he responded, “Others will be made the convenor.” Kumar’s focus remains on bringing parties together ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Regarding controversial remarks by Bihar BJP chief Samrat Choudhary, Kumar dismissed them, stating, “I don’t pay attention to anything they say.” The Upcoming India Alliance conference in Mumbai, scheduled for August 31, is poised to address strategic matters, including seat sharing, and possibly welcome additional regional parties.
Kumar hinted at the alliance’s expansion, asserting, “Our coalition will grow as a few more political parties join it.” While the specific parties were not disclosed, Kumar expressed intentions to discuss election-related issues at the Mumbai meeting.
Notable leaders, such as Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and MPs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, will participate in the upcoming INDIA alliance meeting in Mumbai, reflecting the alliance’s commitment to a united front against the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena coalition.

Sanjay Raut, leader of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction), suggested that new political groups, particularly from northeastern India, might participate in the two-day event. Prominent leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, are expected to attend the third meeting of the coalition at the Grand Hyatt, a five-star hotel in a Mumbai suburb.
