Finding depth in our batting is an area that we are trying to address: Rahul Dravid after T20 series loss to West Indies

After India’s T20 Series loss to the West Indies by a score of 2-3, head coach Rahul Dravid has emphasised the need to increase batting depth.

Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mukesh Kumar played a significant role in India’s performance in the series. Axar Patel, a spin-all-rounder, batted at number seven.

In the series decider, India neglected to advance quickly in the passing overs to wind up with a less than impressive 165/9. West Indies redesignd the objective with two overs in excess.

“I think with regards to our crew here, presumably it didn’t permit us the adaptability in that frame of mind to have the option to change the mixes a smidgen. In any case, I think proceeding, we must gander at specific regions in which we can improve.

India lead trainer Rahul Dravid has focused on the need to add batting profundity following the 2-3 misfortune toward the West Indies in the T20 series. India played the series with a long tail including Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar. Turn all-rounder Axar Patel batted at number seven.

Finding profundity in our batting has been a region we are attempting to address. We are attempting to do the best we can yet that is surely a region we can check out, how we can’t debilitate our bowling assault yet guarantee we have a specific measure of profundity in batting,” expressed Dravid on Sunday.

Clearly, we have a few difficulties on that front and we really want to deal with that. It’s positively something that this series has shown us and we really want to expand on that profundity,” the India mentor brought up.

Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar made their presentations in the T20 series and Dravid was left dazzled by every one of them. Varma made his global presentation in the series and showed he was digging in for the long haul.

I thought every one of the three people who made debuts for us in this series, stood up. Yashasvi Jasiwal in the fourth game, I thought he played an excellent innings. He’s shown us what he can do in the IPL and it was good to see him imitate that in worldwide cricket.

So I believe there’s a few genuine great up-sides in the folks who made their presentations for ourselves and ideally they take certainty from the series and continue to advance as they proceed.  We have a couple of players returning from injury in Asia Cup. The emphasis stays on the ODI design in front of the Asia Cup and World Cup at home.

Dravid implied that a couple of the harmed players including Jasprit Bumrah, K.L. Rahul and Shreyas Iyer could highlight in the Asia Cup. Bumrah’s rebound series will be against Ireland starting August 18.

We need to offer them chances to play (in Asia Cup). We have a multi week camp in Bengaluru from August 23 for the Asia Cup.
