On Friday, seasoned actress Saira Banu made her Instagram debut by posting a touching photo in memory of her late husband, renowned actor Dilip Kumar.
Dilip Kumar, who is still regarded as one of India’s best performers ever, left behind a lasting legacy of approximately 50 years in the film industry. Saira’s moving gesture encourages us to ponder his immense talent.
She gracefully accepted the digital world in her note while honouring the legend’s memory for future generations.
In her initial post, Saira included two pictures of herself and Dilip Kumar, one coloured and the other monochromatic.
In the caption, she included one of Dilip Sahab’s favourite Urdu couplets, “Sukoon-E-Dil Ke Liye Kuch Toh Ehtemaam Karoon, Zara Nazar Jo Miley Phir Unhe Salaam Karoon, Mujhe Toh Hosh Nahin Aap Mashwara Dijiyey Kaha Se Chedoon Fasana Kahan Tamaam Karoon.”
“I am writing this note on the 7th of July to especially express my gratitude to the overwhelming number of caring well-wishers and dearest friends from all over the world who have so tremendously swept me off my feet to this day with their everlasting remembrance, love, and respect for my Kohinoor Dilip Kumar Sahib,” she continues.
Saira Banu recites another Urdu couplet, “Uth Apni Jumbish-E-Mizgaan Se Taaza Kar De Hayaat, Keh Ruka Ruka Qadam-E-Qayenaat Hain Saqi,” as she mourns the loss of her “Sahib,” as she referred to him affectionately. My entire world is silent because my loved one is asleep. I beg him to wake up so that his movement of awakening will bring the world back to life.
I still have the feeling that he is there with me, and no matter what happens, we will always travel through life side by side, united in our minds and beings till the end of time. With his courteous presence and engaging demeanour, Dilip Sahib has served as a guiding beacon for my life and the lives of all those generations who have come before us. He was the best actor who has ever lived and a wonderful person, a perfect example of humility and decency, according to her.
Saira and Dilip have always charmed their fans’ hearts with their on- and off-screen chemistry.
For the audience, films like “Gopi,” “Bairaag,” “Sagina Mahato,” and “Duniya” have been a joy. The couple became the ideal.
