A guy has been detained in Houston on suspicion of killing the rapper BTB Savage. The rapper, whose actual name is Darrell Gentry, is thought to have been murdered in vengeance for the murder of a man he claimed tried to rob him and his girlfriend, as well as the disdain he showed people grieving his enemy's death.
Hours prior his death, he reportedly shared a picture of himself standing in the blood of the guy he is accused of killing two months earlier.
Authorities discovered Gentry dead near the entrance to a parking garage, according to Houston Police Chief Troy Finner.
According to witnesses, two individuals fled in the black Subaru SUV following the incident. This was useful in locating suspect Montrel Lenard Burley.
Burley, 40, is the primary suspect in the artist's killing, according to police. Burley is now charged with the death of BTB Savage.
Burley rented the SUV in San Antonio four days before the shooting, according to their research. The automobile had Florida license plates at the time.
Burley changed the plates on a stolen Kia from Harris County on March 29. He replaced the Florida license plates after the shooting. Cellphone data also monitored his activities, putting him in strategic locations that helped the Houston Police Department develop their case.
Houston Police posted they arrested him on April 10, 2023.

Burley has been taken into the Harris County Jail and is scheduled to show up in criminal court today (Tuesday, April 11) at 10 a.m. A second suspect is on the run who has yet to be recognized.
