LESSON 17
Population growth and food supply
The relationship existed between Population growth and food supply is in such a way that for the food produced to take care of the population growth which is expected to increase in arithmetic progression (1, 2, 3, 4 etc) it has to increase in geometric progression.
Factors affecting population growth
- Climatic conditions.
- Food and water availability.
- Natural disasters.
- Drought and famine.
- War.
- Natality and mortality rate.
- Rate of immigration and emigration.
