This proclamation was made official through a press release signed by Professor Sambo Junaidu, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council.

The press release confirmed that the council has duly acknowledged the report and officially designated Wednesday as the start of Shawwal 1445AH, as outlined in a press release issued in Sokoto on Monday evening.
