The reason Damilola Adeparusi, aka Chef Dammy, disagreed with her pastor and the Spirit Word Mission has a brand-new justification.
The Spirit Word Mission's 120-hour cookathon's face was Chef Dammy.
After the cookathon, according to a report by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism, FIJ, Chef Dammy's freedom was revoked.
She hated the church and they kept her phone and social media passwords.
She was confined, a church source informed FIJ, because the cook-a-thon organizers had her phone and ATM card.Many individuals were unable to reach her by phone, and she was also unable to respond to their social media messages. She admitted to me directly that she was no longer having fun and yearned to return to her former existence when she had more freedom.
How Chef Dammy's issue first arose
Chef Dammy's church began planning for a second cookathon after the 120-hour cooking marathon, in which she would also serve as the poster chef.
She was still recovering from the earlier cookathon, according to FIJ's source, so this did not sit well with her.
"Dammy didn't want to participate in a second cook-a-thon because she was still recovering from the previous one. That suggestion was swiftly rejected by her family as well, which infuriated the church's organizers.
After learning about the new cookathon, Dammy's family complained to the Ekiti state government.
The church was summoned, and she demanded the passwords to Dammy's phone and social media accounts. The problem between the chef and Pastor Jeremiah reportedly took a serious turn when Dammy transferred N700k to her family, making things worse.
Some of us in the church who had listened to all sides didn't join the organization to despise Dammy as much as they want. They learned that out of the N1.2 million in her personal account that Dammy had transferred to her mother and older brother, respectively, while we were still trying to figure out the best course of action.
