Simultaneously, the Israeli army has received reports of a shooting incident within an Israeli settlement in Metula, a town situated on the border with Lebanon.

Metula has been designated a military zone, following the Israeli army's directive to evacuate a minimum of 28 settlements within a 2km (1.2 miles) radius of Israel's northern border. The escalation in exchanges of fire over the past week has prompted this action.
