When they heard the gunmen trying to break down their front door, Itay and Hadar Berdichevsky, both 30 years old, only had a few seconds to act because they knew that if they didn't, their children wouldn't have a future.

Israeli ambassador to Colombia Gali Dagan claimed that the panicked parents hurriedly crammed their two infants into a covert refuge just before the Hamas terrorists barged into their home.

In the course of the gunmen's attack on Israel, which resulted in the deaths of more than 700 Israelis, Itay and Hadar "bravely fought" the attackers before they were shot and died.

After being abandoned for more than 12 hours, the couple's two infants were miraculously discovered and saved by Israeli forces, according to Dagan, who praised the pair as "heroes" for having "done everything they could to save their children."

While terrorists infiltrated their home, they concealed their 10-month-old twin babies in the refuge,' Dagan posted on Twitter. Itay and Hadar heroically fought the attackers before being cruelly killed.
