Bollywood: Nitin Desai, a celebrated Bollywood director, discovered dead at his studio in India just few months after hosting a lavishing wedding party for his daughter.


Nitin Desai, a Celebrated Bollywood Director, was discovered dead at his studio, sparking a police inquiry.

Police allegedly located the 58-year-old filmmaker this morning after being notified by residents at the Karjat property in India. According to local media, an investigation into Nitin's death has been opened and is still ongoing.continue reading

He reportedly established his 52-acre studio in the Raigad area of Maharashtra in 2005, where he has since produced Films Including Farzand and Ajintha.

According to the Hindustan Times, Desai allegedly acknowledged an insolvency suit against his business last week and was heavily indebted.

The death of Desai surprised filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who added that his friend had just three months earlier organised a spectacular wedding reception for his daughter. He expressed his dismay to the media.

When asked if he thought Desei was having financial difficulties, Bhandarkar responded, "The wedding was really lavish." He was ecstatic and behaving exactly as a parent would when his daughter was getting married. Everything appeared to be ideal.

The studios were also used to create the sets for popular Indian TV programmes like Bigg Boss and Jodha Akbar.

Vinod Tawde, a close friend of the director, reacted to the devastating news of his passing by saying, "I used to often communicate with him. The news of his passing is incredibly sad. He and I spoke the day before.

Ashutosh Gowariker, a director who collaborated with Nitin on a number of films, including Lagaan and Jodha Akbar, told Pinkvilla he was "stunned. Shocked. There are none. Karjat, en route to ND Studios.

Ketan Mehta, a filmmaker, also expressed shock over his friend's passing. He remarked, "I am shocked to learn of his passing. We collaborated on a number of films together. Oh, Darling, Aar Ya Paar! Mangal Pandey, Yeh Hai India It's been a lengthy relationship and a remarkable skill. I'm still in disbelief.

Having won the National Award for Best Art Direction four times, Nitin was highly regarded in the Bollywood business.

Famous filmmakers like Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Rajkumar Hirani were among the collaborators of Desai. and produced a number of well-received films, including Once Upon a Time in Mumbai in 2010 and Devdas in 2002.

In 2008, he was particularly notable for his work on the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire's sets.
