Canada Oil Project Approval Law Unconstitutional, Top Court Says

Canada’s top Court declared key parts of a major environmental Law Unconstitutional Friday, potentially triggering changes in how the country manages major industrial and energy project approvals.

The Supreme Court of Canada ruled the scoping provisions of the Impact Assessment Act are Unconstitutional, providing a win for the oil-rich province of Alberta and oil companies opposed to the act.
