Renowned Tipster and Broadcaster Ed Quigley aka ‘Longshot Ted’ fired in more winners over the weekend, and he is back with his best bets for Huntingdon on Tuesday.

Ted’s bets for Tuesday, October 10:

Huntingdon 3.10 – Chess Player

The combination of a return to a sound surface and the step up in trip appeared to work a treat for CHESS PLAYER who produced all the right moves to win at Stratford last time out and can follow up here. Ben Pauling and Beau Morgan team up with the 8-year-old who looks to have major claims to go in again.

Underfoot conditions should be spot-on once again for the gelding who jumped and travelled beautifully from off the pace when last seen, and looked to be more in his comfort zone over the longer trip. The 7lb rise in the weights looks fair, and with Beau Morgan taking 5lb off, he can make his class tell again.

It is also worth noting that Chess Player has smart form at Huntingdon too – he has a first and second from his two previous efforts here and so even though he is in a deeper race this time around, trip, track and ground are all in his favour so a bold show is expected for the Naunton Downs raider.

Huntingdon 3.45 – Lucky’s Dream

Rookie Trainer Ben Brookhouse has his string in scintillating form at present, and can get LUCKY’S DREAM back in the winner’s closure here. The 8-year-old hasn’t been seen over Hurdles since 2020, and most recently has been plying his trade on the level.

Back over Hurdles off a mark of 95 he is one to take seriously in this grade, given that this is a race with quite a few out-of-sorts individuals in here he can get the better of, and the aforementioned form of the yard mean that this combination have to be taken seriously.

There will be no concerns over fitness having run on the Flat at Haydock only 11 days ago and a return to form would be no surprise for this unexposed Hurdler who can get off the mark for the first time over obstacles with Jack Quinlan in the saddle.

Huntingdon 4.20 – Regarde

Jamie Snowden has his string in fine fettle at present, and the 6-year-old is a fascinating contender now embarking on a Chasing career. An emphatic winner of a point-to-point on his final start for Colin Bowe, he has only shown moderate form so far over Hurdles, but a lot more can be expected now going over fences.

The gelding had a win-operation a while ago, and struggled on proper winter ground so this surface should be much more to his liking. The salient point is the step to an extended 2m7f – he should be much more at home over this trip, and can flourish now tackling fences. Gavin Sheehan is in the saddle for the Lambourn handler, and REGARDE fits the profile of an individual who can take a big step forwards in this Class 5 assignment.

I would be far from surprised if ended up looking well treated off a mark of 94 and he brings a lot of potential ‘upside’ to the table.
